Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Power Cable We moved recently - and I cannot find the power cable for my printer. I looked at the Dell web site and it looks like a simple cable. But when I look at the back of the printer it looks the cable would be quite large. Perhaps 1.5 x 3 inchs. What does the cable look like? Is their an adaper that fell out of the system? Thanks! neal.stoker@gmail.com

Hey, this does look like a strange place for a cord.  Have been given a brand new Dell Photo 924, and no power cord.  Dell wants $55 for one, a bit steep for a cord, don't you think?

Looking at the illustration of the 924, it appears to use an increasingly common arrangement and the power 'cable' may be actually a plug-in power supply instead.
This is used to avoid the need of qualifying each printer model for electrical safety by using one supply (= one fairly complex qualifying exercise) for several different models.

If you are lacking your manual, you can download a copy from here:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/index.htm

This also explains the apparent high cost of the 'cable,' even though the modular supply proabably cost less than $10 US when it left China.

It is likely to be a rectangular box with an attached AC cord and contacts on the opposite end from the cord that slides into the body of the unit.

For a missing supply, I would check eBay before buying one at retail.

I need cable from hp 5610 all in one to dell pc, i bought 5610 office jet all in one . i have a dell 4550 pc . i need everything it takes to hook together

Head over to the HP Parts Store site located at http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=17D3FC6A12854685A008C66EFC2F2C0C.

Enter the Part Number 8121-0868 which is for a USB cable compatible with your printer. It looks like it's priced at $19.

Assuming you have the power cord, this should be all you need to get it working.

I have misplaced the power cable for my Dell I926 printer. Please advise cost to replace this?

The power cable should not be any more than $5.00 to $7.00, this is a common cord to replace.

My dell 966 won't print documents--put new cartridge in but contiues to say color ink is low but prints test page with no problem

This sounds like it may be as simple as correcting communication problems between the printer and the computer.

Remove the USB cable from your printer and your computer. Reconnect the USB cable to your printer and your computer.

Turn off the printer. Unplug the printer power cable from the electrical outlet and let rest for a few mnutes. Reconnect the printer power cable into the electrical outlet, and turn on the printer.

Restart your computer.

This may resolve the problem.

How can you reset the cmos password

Dell Optiplex 780, user forgot BIOS master password (which is necessary to change the boot order to run BartPE from CD and do an image backup).

There is a jumper on the mainboard called PSWD1, which is set (shorted). Remove power cable from PC (CMOS battery can stay in place), open the lid. Remove jumper from PSWD1. Reconnect power, start the PC, hit F2 to enter BIOS. All passwords should be reset.

Leave BIOS, power off the PC, remove power cable. Reattach jumper to PSWD1, close lid, reattach power cable. Start PC. Enjoy.

I have a dell computer and printer. We relocated

Greetings,

Does the printer show that it is receiving power?
Can the printer run any self tests?

It is possible that the USB cable is the failure point although I would expect that the port got banged around during the move.

The quickest isolation test is to replace the USB cable.

If that still does not work, then a service call may be an option. One other thought, if your PC has multiple USB ports, try the cable in one of them.

I cant figure out what the printer power cable is for my Dell 924

If you are talking about the cable that plugs into the wall socket, it shoudh have a 3 prong plug that goes to a square block that fits into your printer.

Dell 1600N warming up message

Hi Unplug the printer power cable from the wall and disconnect it from the printer as well. Turn the printer power switch on for 15 seconds. This will reset the printer. Turn the printer power switch off and plug the cable back in on both ends. Then turn power on. The Document Jam error should be eliminated.

Please keep in mind you must check for any small pieces of paper or look for a real paper jam prior to completing the steps above.

I hope that helps.
