Dryer squeeks very loud. Still drys but noice is very schrill.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# GLER341A, is drying, but is making a very shrill and loud squeaking sound. There could be several possibilities that might be causing this sound. Please make sure your dryer is level. Check from side to side, front to back, and corner to corner. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Simpson eziloader dryer

Is it an electric dryer? I had this same issue with an electric dryer and we replaced it because it was old and the new dryer did the same thing!! obviously the new dryer couldn't be the problem so I looked into the only aspect that didn't change. the fuse box and outlet. I opened the fuse box and realized that one of the positive sides of the 220 wire came loose and many electric dryers are use one side to run the motor/electronics and the other side to run the heating coil. I would advise you not to mess with your fuse box unless you are sure of what you are doing and the risks. It is best left to a trained professional.

Strange odor coming from dryer during operation

It could be clogged vent or as I always say The best method is to do your home work and you must do total trouble shooting procedure and replace defective parts if necessary and could be dead rodents inside vent
Best way is visual check and check for any faulty component and parts and check all thermostats and sensors and look for clogged vent or out side vent or any damaged or rusty or cracked components and use step by step deduction method for trouble shooting

Indesit is70c dryer

Hi , the load in the dryer may be not distributed properly, or the dryer is touching the side panel of the surrounding area. All the best.

Outside of dryer very hot to touch when drying clothes on left side of dryer when facing it. Cleaned the dryer vent. Always when in use.

The motor is on the left side and can start getting very hot due to lint/dust collecting in the motor. Best thing would be to remove the motor and blowing it out with compressed air, and while you're at it it might be a good idea to clean the whole inside of the dryer. Worst case scenario is that the motor is too far gone and may need replacing, but usually a good clean is sufficient.

How do I find the fuses on an old (circa 1983) Lady Kenmore Sears Best dryer, that suddenly stopped working, to check if they are burnt out?

The fuses should be close to where the cord comes into the back of the dryer. You may need to turn the dryer on its side or remove the back cover to gain access. Unplug the dryer before starting your search.
