My camera does the exact same thing - it says please turn the camera on then off again and won't take any pictures or download anything. Mine goes one further - the lens won't go back in when the camera is turned off but it goes in then back out when I turn it on. It all started when I transferred pictures from the camera to my PC.

It's basically useless and I have only had it barely over one year - just long enough to not be covered under warranty. What a surprise. I think they do this on purpose so that we have to purchase additional software or upgrades to make it work again. I will never purchase panasonic products for anything since I can't even get support without paying for that too.

My camera does the same thing. When I turn it on it tells me to turn it off. It is not the batteries. I have replaced them twice.

OK, if there is sand in the camera, the gears will bind or stop causing the error that you described. I think it needs to be taken apart and cleaned by a service center before using again. Or you could buy a spare caemera to use on your family holiday and wedding.

Yellow lines appear in picture after taken. Picture color is way off even when lines are not very apparent. Does not do this all the time! Picture quality is excellent when all is well!! Whats up??????

Ok dont worry about that, first thing you need to do is to remove the memory card., Turn On cmaera wothout memory card, now press menu button and go to setup menu and under setup menu please look for format then press Ok, under format please for mat the internal memory.

Now if you already reformat the internal memory, take atleast 3 pictures on a same subject., then hit review if the lines appeared on both pictures on same location, it means camera needs of service please call Kodak toll free 1 800 235 6325., For U.S and canada support. Gudluck!

Buttons don't work and can't zoom

Some of those buttons work in combination with the two dials (i.e., setting ISO and white balance, etc.). Hold a buttin down and user the knobs simoultaneously.
If this is not the issue, please describe specifically which buttons are not workin...

Right protection

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Camera won't turn on

One suggestion you may want to try is going to there was an issue posted there with Power Shot A540's involving the battery holder that causes similar issues to what you are describing- if your camera has the serial # starting with the #'s posted online they will repair your camera regardless of the warranty status.

OK I know whats wrong with this one, because my cmaera did the same thing. The outside shutter in the lens opens, right? Well, the inside shutter is stuck. Its staying shut. Take the camera apart(or if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a expert)and tap the side gently, it should fix itslef like that. If not, its the same problme, but you'll have to take it in somewhere.
