Canon ip3000 Color problem

How come the printed colors are different than what's in my document?

I actually fixed the problem by removing the ink cartridges and wiping the "nozzle" (not sure what it's called) on the printer. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the response.

This is a frequent complaint and only high-end equipment provides the necessary tools to correct the differences between display and printed output.

If the output is otherwise pristine, you can't do much about it, although if there are clear defects (streaks, etc), you might try running the provided cleaning routine on the printhead.

If you play with the brightness and contrast controls of your monitor, you will see that these can influence the color and saturation of what you see and the printer is not capable of seeing the same thing as you.

You can try removing the printhead itself and cleaning it with a mild cleaner such as window cleaner and cotton swabs.

Blotting the print surface on paper towel will give you and idea if the cleaning was successful; the head will leave lines of color on the paper.

Canon Pixma ip3000 will not print in color. We recently replaced all three color cartidges and when I went to do a nozzle check, it only printed the black part of the test page. Several times. I went...

I find this an unusual problem but lets look at the logic.
It worked ok before your replaced the colour cartridges.
Your replaced only the colours and now it does not.
Did you replace the cartridges with like for like?
Are they compatables? Did you run the cleaning cycle?
Run the cleaning cycle at least 3 times.
If still no good buy 3 genuine canon cartridges and see what happens.
If still no joy then must assume the printhead is the problem.
A bit of a coincidence?

Uneven color lines

That is because it is printing the document as text. Not have=ing used a canon I presume it is the same as epson & HP. Instead of clicking the print icon click file print. A box should open allowing you to change the properties, seleect photo

When printing tell printer to use color space sRGB.
let printer determine color.
see if that works.

Printing in color

hi

often the printer 'driver' settings on your printer are set to greyscale only
on the pc open the control panel, printers
right click on the printer and select properties
open the control for the printer and go to the printing preferences (on the general tab)
on the next window (main) look down and ensure the setting is set to colour (not greyscale)
ok out and try printing again

these settings are from my iP5000 and should be similar
try looking in the preferences for similar options
