I can't find camera assistant software,I have a 1.3 mp built-in camera.
If you wish, you can try Cyberlink Youcam which is available for latest HP Notebooks installed with Vista :
Even though this application is meant for Vista, try installing if you are having XP in your machine.

Also, if the application is not being installed in XP, you can try using the Webcam Preview application which is available from the link below :
Better way is to save the file in the Notebook and double click on it to start installation.
