Upgrading my Satellite l45-s7423 for gaming

So first off I know this system is not the best for gaming but I want to upgrade it's gaming capability. The questions are as follows. In advance thank you for your help and I am sorry if they are dumb questions
1: It says It has 1gig of ddr2 sdram in it currently but an on-board graphics card. so
a: How much ram does vista support and how much should I upgrade? 1 2gig ddr2 stick or 2 2gig sticks? Also what spec on the ram?
b: Is it capable to upgrade/replace the graphics card on it? i saw on another site that is has an express slot free. So that means I could put a single pci express card in it right?
Any suggestions of what I should put into it?

Thanks for your help

A. vista 32bit supports 2.5-3 gigs and vista 64bit supports 8-16. i would stick at least 2gigs for vista 3gigs being recommended. a way to figure out what type of ram is to download CPU-Z.

B.most likely you can't upgrade your graphics card. but i would check Toshiba's web site to see for sure.

C. there are things that you can try to make it slightly better for gaming. try downloading the latest video drivers for it.

a lot of laptops have the option of dedicating some system ram for video. try turning that up.

the next thing you could do is download riva tuner. this will let you overclock your gpu but don't overclock too much cause you could fry the video card and you might not be able to replace it.

Hello, my satellite l45-s7423 has a "blue screen" when i try to turn it on. i have misplaced the recovery disk. what can i do to fix this issue?

While the system is starting up keep pressing F8 (function key 8). When you see a black screen with bunch of options select "Last Know Good Configuration". Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Purchase new battery from attbat, there faq say to upgrade your bios so battery can be recognize, don't no how

You MUST be very CAREFUL upgrading BIOS! Do NOT recommend you take this action if you've never done it before! Laptop may become unusable and you may NOT be able to retrieve your personal information (files, pictures, etc).

Have reviewed the fixes of the BIOS of your laptop and it DOES NOT mention anything about battery.

A skilled technician can help.

You can access Vista disk management (right click on computer from the Start Menu > Manage > Storage > Disk Management) and shrink your current partition and create a new one. Then install XP on that new partition. This is if you want a dual boot of both XP and Vista.

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
