Question about Maytag Kitchen Ranges
More than likely, your igniter for the bake manifold needs to replaced. Even if the igniter glows, they sometimes become weak with age and no longer provide the necessary current to open the gas valve. The following link explains all this and how to replace one if you wish to perform the repair yourself:
Since the BAKE function is used more frequently than BROIL, the lower igniter tends to wear out more often. Its a fairly simple repair job. Replacement igniters can be found on line at searspartsdirect.com or repairclinic.com. There are other sites available, but these two tend to have the best prices, with Sears offering excellent parts illustrations for easy component identification. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
