Question about Canon PIXMA iP1600 Printer

Canon Pixma iP1600 Printer problem

Hi - My printer boots up and the green light flashes as though ready to print, then it reverts to the reset status, and the orange light flashes a couple of times. It then goes back to being ready, then goes reset....etc...etc. When trying to print the printer paper jam text box comes up, but there is no jam! Can you help?

    Unable to do that - it won't print - maybe it's to do with the paper sensor ????

    Nah, it's been going 3 years for a degree course!!! Taken it for a diagnostic test to see if it's fixable. Thanks for your help tho' guys :)

Sure..disconnect printer from computer and then try a test page from printer stand alone

Canon MP140 Error Code injet printer reset procedure:

Canon waste ink tank problem.
1. Change the waste ink absorber

2. Reset waste ink tank counter

Go to the service menu;

1. With the printer power OFF , press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
NEXT
2. When the Power is ON, hit the Stop/Reset button 2 times while pressing and holding the Power button.
NEXT
3. When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button , the printer will go into a service mode.
NEXT
4 When the ON-OFF lights in Green, hit the Stop/Reset button the specified number of times according to the function listed in below.
NEXT
Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights in orange and green, starting with orange.

Hit 4 times for waste ink counter reset.

0 time ... Green Power off
1 time ... Orange Service pattern print

Hi. my ip1600 wont print
7 flashes says there are either 2 inks of the same color or ink tanks that are not compatible. Could be just a defective cartridge, canon will replace within 30 days. The ones flashing or off when you open the cover are the problem ones, if more than 1 replace one at a time and check for errors after each is installed.

Have just changed refilled cartrige, alarm light is blinking
The printer does a longer green flash and then the amber flashes. you need to tell me how many flashes between the green flashes, to know what the problem is.

You may running out of the colored ink.. just make sure you change it before it runs out.. make sure you buy a colored ink for Canon Pixma iP1600.. the cartridge of the colored ink of your printer has a number infront of it.. eg: Canon CI-41

You can try this it some times works.

Super Canon User's method of resetting IP1600
1.Press Resume button hold for 1 - 2 minutes (count to 1 to 15-16)
2.Open the cover right away
3.Release Both cartridges out and then put cartridges them back again
4.Close The Cover
5.Turn Off Then Turn On again.

You can download the Resetter tools program from my website.

1. Download software for Canon iP1200, iP1600, 2200 Printers.
2. Unzip downloaded file by etc
3. Run GeneralTool.exe
4. Select the connected USB port number from USB PORT
5. Click LOCK RELEASE, and select the applicable model name in SET DESTINATION
6. In CLEAR WASTE INK COUNTER, select MAIN or PLATEN. The selected waste ink counter will be reset. MAIN resets the main waste ink counter, PLATEN resets the platen waste ink counter.
If both the main and platen waste ink absorbers are replaced, reset both the main and platen waste ink counters.
