Compatible Cartridge After installing new compatible cartridges the R1900 still says the cartridge is empty

I also have the problem of it not recognising when the cartridge has been replaced. I am using Epson cartridges not 'compatible' ones so I can't see why it is having a problem accepting them.

Hi,
if the cartridge has a micro-chip on it, it,s possible that the cartridge has not had the Chip recharged after being filled with ink.
Alternatively, go to printer properties or preferences, and locate Maintainance. If there is an icon to change ink cartridges, follow the on-screen instructions of how to.
On installation, if you get a message stating :- the following cartridges are not the original items, do you wish to proceed. select yes. If this fails, look on the web, to see if you can obtain A Chip-ressetting tool for your model printer, or if there is a suitable ink re-fill kit available.

All the problem form the bad of chips, if you choose the good chips, then it not a problem.
the R1900 and the R2880 the chips totaly different with any of other Epson chips such as R1800 and R2400, it some thing special in chip code,
we have tested some different chips, but never get success, most of them only works in the very begain, and after some time, problem coming, then we try inkrepublic chips works well from last Oct till now.

As to my knowledge; It sounds like You`ve got a NON-compatible cartridge. As the printer tells You :) You`ll have to be sure that any aftermarket cartridges You buy, are stated as compatible; or simply buy originals I`m sorry to say..
Both Lexmark, Dell & others uses so called rfid chips on the cartridges. This is how the printer by short wave radio signals communicates with the cartridge; and thus can it determine ink levels & whether it is a "compatible cartridge" and so on. If a non compatible one is inserted; it will; as You state; not work (it can`t determine that a cartridge is present). A "self refilled" ink cartridge still acts as a empty one; since the rfid chip sends the same id no to the printer; and it`s already been noted as "empty" from before. In that case, swapping rfid chips from a "new" cartridge has been known to work. The rfid chip is either embedded in the "circuit band" in front of the cartridge, or as a single small "pvc chip" underneath the sticker on top.
Hope this helped.

Installed new ink cartridges mx 300, compatible B&W 40, color 41, printer status still says low ink, printing as if it is low ink. properly installed, tape removed, what i miss? can I check something...

Do you know what?. As a matter of fact,it is not compatible cartridges you buy. It is refurbished cartridges that repackaged with other brand as if this is their product. I say it is original cartridges that once empty and repackaged. So that's why when you install the cartridge the ink level stays low. You can make it sure by comparing it with new original cartridge. Find original cartridge, may be you can borrow from someone, which ink level still full and install on your printer. I am a hundred percent sure ink level will show properly :).

Toner light is on and wont print

How new is your cartridge? Usually when the cartridge is getting close to empty the print comes out light. You can try shaking the cartridge gently from side to side to distribute the toner throughout the cartridge.

If you are in need of getting a new cartridge, try a compatible. I have had great luck with them, and the save you lots of $ and work just as good.

I purchase all my toner and compatible cartridges from:

www.lasertekservices.com

I hope this helps :)

So, is the new cartridge "compatible", or is it not as compatible as they claim?

Try a "genuine" replacement cartridge.

Start the software that came with the printer.
There is a "ink-jet test" utility, and a "head-cleaning" utility.
Run each of them, to see if anything is "clogged".

I have installed a compatible cartridge and the printer is not reading, I have used compats before and they have worked fine?

A blinking orange light means an empty or incorectly installed printer cartridge. Be sure you installed the number 45 black and number 78 tri color cartridges. The 41 tri-color looks the same but will generate an error. Also, ensure that the cartridge is not empty or dried out.

Samsung sf-5100 fax toner empty

I have a feeling that it is a re-manufactured or compatible cartridge??
There is a fuse that needs to be replaced on this unit. it blows when the cartridge is installed to reset the machine. If the fuse has not been replaced or is defective the machine will not recognize the new unit.

Epsom stylus CX4700 won't print - new ink cartridges installed

They cut costs on Epson compatible cartridges by using low quality ink and chips or not resetting the chips at all. Sounds like you got cartridges that the chips were not reset on so your printer thinks all the cartridges are empty. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I would never recommend purchasing compatible Epson cartridges from anyone. I would buy refills of Epson brand cartridges and make sure the seller reset the chips.

Can't use compatible ink

Hi,
You need a chip-resetting tool.
Or use the printers software utilitie changing ink cartridge, some printers insist that you go into your printer software/program. to inform or communicate with the printer, that you are changing a Cartridge. then the printer, will move the printhead to the desired position, to remove the cartridge.
When the new cartridge is installed, the printer is set to look for new changes. make sure you,ve inserted the cartridge fully into it,s slot ( holder ) push until you get a slight click.
If you,ve disabled Status monitor, then your printer cannot output the Cartridge Status. ( empty-Full )

Installing new cartridges and showing empty

Is this a genuine Brother cartridge or a compatible/refilled cartridge? Inside, at the rear of the cartridge there is flag which when full blocks a sensor in the machine indicating the cartridge is full - with some compatible and refilled cartridges the flag may not be set correctly so the sensor sees that there is no ink in the cartridge. As a temporary fix place some black tape over the rear of the cartridge where the sensor arm is.
