Tried the solution offered to quiet speaker on JBL Creature II, but magnet part looks as though it's already as far back as it will go within its housing, (in fact, it is glued in the back position!), so can't solve the quiet speaker prob.

JBL Creature needs a 18V, 3.5 Amp, AC power supply. JBL original power supply model is TA66180350-B2 made in China. In put power is 220-240V, 50 Hz-0.5 Amps. The AC supply is made to a dual rail supply inside the creature using a diode bridge.
I had the same problem one time and it was a loose connection in the speaker. I will work on any computer but I stay away from anything else. :-) A buddy opened her up and fixed her for me. If it is new, think about taking it back to the store. Thank goodness the prices have come down so much that I am considering getting Bose instead and blasting myself onto the wall behind me. :-)
Without seeing it it is hard to tell, but it could be that the speaker cone is out of the magnet hole, and is missaligned, in other words the voice coil could be sitting on top of the magnet instead of in the magnet hole... If you DELICATELY push on the speaker cone does it move in and out??? side view cut away of a speaker...
just increase subwoofer level located at the front. If it doesn't work then replace your woofer if it is in warranty period because it migth be due to internal electronic components failure.
I looked and the only thing I could come up with is to e-mail JBL and order a new one. Radio shack, Best Buy, or Futurehsop might be able to help but you have to call them with the model number or go to the store and check it out. Here's the link to JBL if you want to order a new one.
