No . Very reasonable. Common item at appliance parts places and not difficult to replace. Have you tested it with a light or ohm meter to see if it is bad? You will have to disconnect it to do so.  If you need more infor , just ask.

How do i replace a bottom element

Without knowing what make it is, it makes it pretty difficult to say. Most ovens have an element in the bottom of the oven compartment. If its a fan forced oven, the element is a cicular one which fits behind a panel in the back of the oven. Some ovens have an element which is fitted behind the floor of the oven and transfers the heat through the base of the oven. In almost all cases, you will have to pull the oven out and remove the back. Make sure the power is OFF to the oven before you do anything.

I need some instructions how to change the lower oven element in my britannia SI-12T7 cooker. the element has screws that will not unscrew from inside the oven. any ideas?

straight forward to do. undo the screws to the back panel of the oven.
once remove down at the bottom of the oven you will see where the heater element comes through . there are to main feed wires that are pushed on and one earth wire. pulls these off as they are just push fit.
the element its self is a flat plate with 2 self tapper screws undo these and the element will then come out of the front of the oven. you have to lift it on a slight angle so the feet of the element will come through . hope this helps

Oven not heating up but fan comes on, in the larger oven . Model 1000dfdl

Main oven element probably needs replacing, usualy they only last about 4-5 years depending on usage, fairly cheap to replace, around 15 pounds for the part, fairly easy job for diy enthusiast, or no more than 30 mins work for a appliance repair person. On most ovens, first isolate the oven for safety at the double pole switch outlet. open oven , remove all shelves etc, look for a metal cover at the back which covers the fan and element, usualy two or three screws on the cover to remove, behind cover you see the element and fan, remove two screws on the element mounting plate and carefully pull out with the wires, carefully pull off the two connectors on the element, connect new element and fit in reverse procedure of above.

Cooker oven not working - replaced bulb. Hot plates still work.

This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Oven not heating up

Hi,
If the other elements and lights are working ok - then you probably need a new heating element.
These are available as spares online.
If you do replace this yourself - turn off at main fuseboard as there will not be a plug. Check with a test meter on supply before removing and replacing element from the rear.

Main oven of Whirlpool AKP 951 not working. It tripped circuit and fan appears to still be going round but no heat.

Hi

I had the same problem and it turned out to be an open circuit oven element. This is fairly easy to replace yourself and should cost £30-£40 for a non Whirlpool replacement. Takes about twenty mutes to do once you have taken the oven out of its housing.

Hope this helps!
