Touch screen pad is not working. I tried screen calibration as well but all in vain. Initially the lower right corner was creating problem but now the whole of touch screen is operated unreliably.

How do I calibrate the touch screen on a Konica 7165?

To adjust the touchscreen sensitivity, perform the following:
1. Power the copier OFF.
2. Access the Key Operator Mode (Power the copier ON, while pressing the [HELP] key).
3. Touch [10. Control panel adjustment] on the touchscreen to display the control panel adjustment screen. Note: If the touchscreen is so far out of adjustment that there is no response when touching [10. Control panel adjustment], the control panel adjustment can be accessed (at this point) by touching any numeric key on the 10-key pad.
4. Touch the + at the upper right corner of the touchscreen lightly with a touch pen (something with a round tip which is made of resin is recommended as a touch pen). Check the coordinates displayed in the top line at the top of the touchscreen.
5. Ensure the X coordinate and the Y coordinate displayed in the message area fall within the standard values. The acceptable values are on the second line.
6. If the values are not within the acceptable parameters, repeat Step 4 until the values are acceptable.
7. Touch the + at the lower left corner of the touchscreen lightly with a touch pen (something with a round tip which is made of resin is recommended as a touch pen). Repeat the process used for the upper right coordinate until acceptable values are achieved.
8. As verification of a correct adjustment, touch the [CHECK] icon at the upper left and lower right corners. You should hear a beep tone for each one. If a beep tone is not heard, repeat the adjustment.
9. Power the copier OFF/ON to exit the Key Operator Mode.

You need to calibrate the touch screen.
Try this:
Press Yellow key
On the key pad Press 1-9-9-3.
Press 5 times the red key (the 5th old a little longer)
(If everything is good in the touch screen shows an option "calibrate touch screen")
Try to touch there and will show a little arrow on each corner. With a pen click there to calibrate the touch screen.
Click exit and its done

Just received a used ds lite from ebay. when I type on the screen it enters the letter next to the one I touched. Is this a serious problem? Never used a DS before; will this have an impact on game...

Sounds like you should try recaliberating the touch screen. Calibration must be done with a stylus. Please note: Using a unlicsensed screen protector can lower the sensitivity of the screen, making calibration difficult. If the problem you are encountering started happening after installing a screen protector, this may be the cause of the problem. Remove all games from the Nintendo DS. Turn the system on by pressing the POWER button. Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears. When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button. should look like this :

icon_settings.gif Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button. should look like this:
icon_calibrate.gif Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves. You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start If the touch screen is not responding properly, hold the Nintendo DS at an angle so that you can see where the edges of the Touch Screen meet the housing of the system. Look around the entire edge of the Touch Screen for any foreign material (such as crumbs, etc.) that may be wedged in between the Touch Screen and the housing of the DS. Foreign material in this area can cause the Touch Screen to work incorrectly. When complete, four squares will appear, allowing users to test the touch screen sensitivity. (Testing is optional.) Tap the "Confirm" button in the lower-right corner. Wait for the the confirmation message to disappear, then tap "Quit," then "Yes" to exit. The unit will shut down automatically to save the settings. hope this helps

1. Set the correct date and the Mid Button is the OK the center orange.
2. Volume is only changeable in the Music or Vidoe Player
3. to calibrate just press with your stylus on the center of the box with the cross lightly ( it calibrates the sensetivitys )

When I use my pen to click on my nintendo DS screen,it touches or selects somewhere else on the screen so I can't play my games properly.

Might need to re-calibrate your screen. From Nintendo's site.

1 Remove all games from the DS.

2 Turn the system on.

3 Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears.

4 When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button.

5 Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button.

6 Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves.

* You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start.
* If the above steps did not help, there is a problem with the system and it will need to be repaired.

7 When complete, four squares will appear, allowing users to test the touch screen sensitivity. (Testing is optional.) Tap the "Confirm" button in the lower-right corner.

8 Wait for the the confirmation message to disappear, then tap "Quit," then "Yes" to exit. The unit will shut down automatically to save the settings.
