Hi.

E2 F3 means Oven temperature is too high (Cook mode).

The first part to be tested is the temp sensor. The sensor is located inside oven cavity and it is tested using a multimeter set on Ohms to read impedance at sensor contacts. At room temperature, sensor resistance should be 1K to 1.1K. If not, replace the sensor. If the sensor checks okay, check for a short to in element wiring (element stays always on). If element and sensor are OK replace the control.

Regards.

Burners do not turn down to selected temp and food burns

I wish I had good things to say about GE but I don't. Probably the burner control is no good. Contact GE and get support due to the fact somebody can get hurt.

Whirlpool GR396LXGQ oven comes on by itself & goes into clean cycle, code reads E2 -F3-

Whirlpool F3 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F3 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F3 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F3, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E3-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in the clean mode. Here is the probe to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Buners will not Fully Light

A burner doesn't work Heating elements eventually burn out. Sometimes, when an element burns out, you can see that the coil burns in two, or blisters and bubbles.

When your heating element burns out, you have to replace it because they are not repairable. If, when the heating element burns out, the infinite switch that controls it also fails, you have to replace it too. Also see the "A burner works only intermittently" section, next.

Problem with microwave oven

F3 means a problem with the keypad. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by not using the hood fan when boiling on the stove top, spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. An exploded view and parts price list can be seen by entering your *entire* model number at the GE parts Web site: http://www.geappliances.com/shop/prts/
