This often is a stuck or faulty door switch and it has blown the interior microwave fuse.

Q-- My microwave is completely dead.
A - House fuse has blown or interior fuse inside the microwave has blown ( usually a part inside the microwave makes this fuse blow ) Sometimes a bad fuse holder inside the microwave cannot hold the fuse tight enough and the fuse will blow as well.

Q - The fan in my microwave oven is not running will this hurt my microwave?
A - YES, the fan cools the magnetron and electronics, take the microwave in for service, most fans are not too expensive to replace.

Q - My microwave blows the fuse inside itself as soon as I push the start button.
A - Usually a shorted high voltage capacitor...see components section

Q - I burnt something in my microwave and now it is dead...help!
A - The fuse inside the microwave may have blown, but more commonly the flame/oven thermostat has sensed the over cooked food and the flame/oven/cavity thermostat has opened up - Info on that

My Whirlpool microwave MT6120XEB-0 keeps blowing the fuse. Inststalled new fuse and display and timer works. Cooking blows new fuse. It turns on, makes grinding sound and blows a new fuse within a second...

You almost certainly have a shorted high voltage capacitor.

See the safety warnings and help information here.

Chances are you will have to remove the oven from the wall to replace it.

You can download Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

My Bosch microwave (built in HMB5050 has stopped heating all of a sudden. Everything else appears to work fine but it does not heat. What is the problem?

I have the same issue, plus mine shuts down after 30 seconds. There are a few other similar issues on here, with solutions including unplugging it for 10 seconds, replacing a fuse, and replacing half the internals. Please post your fix if you find one!

My microwave oven stopped working. No lights, clocks etc. I have checked the outlet and it is fine, power available. Is there a fuse somewhere inside the microwave?

There is a main fuse in the microwave oven, "white body with silver ends" located near the high voltage capacitor. Unplug unit take top off and allow 30 seconds to dis-charge. Keep in mind the door switch becomes defective and often blows the fuse.

Microwave blowing house fuse, but not right away. Sometimes not, sometimes within 15 seconds, sometimes longer. Any idea what the problem and how to fix? Thanks

PLEASE DO NOT USE OR TOUCH when plugged in. Remove Fuse & UNPLUG IT. The ONLY reason a Fuse "Blows" is due to an Active, to Earth fault. This "Could" place the "Mains" voltage on the "Case" of the Unit, if touched while plugged in it could KILL YOU. Please call a registered professional, to attend to this. It may be in the Unit?, it may be in the wiring?

APPLIANCE HAS INTERNAL 8 AMP SAFETY FUSE IF THIS HAS BLOWN IT WILL NEED MAJOR REPAIRS AND POSSIBLY COSTLY THIS FUSE ONLY BLOWS IF FAULTS EXIST WITH HIGH VOLTAGE SIDE OF APPLIANCE SO NO NOVICE SHOULD ATTEMPT A REPAIR.
