Asko DW 95.4 dishwasher in New Zealand

Hi, our machine has no power except when the door is part open. Power goes off when door is shut or fully open. Is there a wire that could be frayed through door action?
Thanks

SOURCE: Asko door latch stuck

The only way is to pull out the dishwasher ,unhook the latch and then unscrew the door panel.your dishwasher is installed with 2 screws to the underside of your countertop. its tricky but youll have to remove them adjust to leveling legs down this will give you more room to get some head bit in ther to remove the screws if its out then slide the d/w foward ,remove the strike plate door will open then you can get your dishes out first

Check the level and tightness of the slide rails--they may have come loose after the years of use. Make sure the dishwasher case itself is level. Hope this helps!

Testimonial: "Thank-you. The unit is perfectly level. The rails are spot welded and all bearing seems to be OK. Nothing to tighten, will investigate further now that I see the system is not complex at all. Thanks for replying so quickly. k"

Dishwasher stops mid cycle

Hi,

Do the foll. things:

1)Check if there is water on the bottom pan. Remove the panel down on the backside of the machine and look. If it's water there, wipe it well up with a towel or so. 2)if ur dishwasher doesn't starts then: First, check the usual suspects: Make sure the circuit breaker isn’t tripped and that the wires at dishwasher’s power junction box aren’t burnt. If all that checks out, then go right to the control panel area.
Asko dishwashers have had problems with the wiring in the control panel area burning or melting– very messy. While your problem may not be as dramatic as that, the problem may still be visible. You may find burnt or discolored wire terminals or the spades on the start button switch may be burnt– anything burnt or discolored has to be replaced. You can buy any replacement parts you need right here.

Goodluck,

Dishwasher runs even tho the door is open

The door interlock switch is jammed in the closed position.

There is a metal tab on the inside top of the DW frame that engages a lock just behind the handle on the inside of the unit. The lock tells the machine the door is closed and it is OK to run. If that jams the unit thinks the door is closed.

Open the door.

Look for the latch inside the door behind the handle.

Try to release it with a screwdriver.

If you need to you can remove the handle and repair from inside. It is usually a simple jam that requires you to gently pry the latch open.

REMEMBER TO TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST.

Hope this helps. Please rate this if it helps you.

Thanks,

Adrian

Asko 1805 - inside light is on, none of the operation (front panel) lights turn on

Quite simple after all. If the main power button on the top left hand side of the door is pressed in (on). Whenever the door is openned their is a light in the DW which comes on like the fridge or oven.

Keeping the power button off turns the light off. For us this is good as we usually only close the door fully (catch catches) when we run the machine. This way we are not wasting electricity.

New Asko Dishwasher. Both the appliance store

Make certain the door switch is making contact and the switch is good. Open the front panel and trace all the wires, especially where they go from the door to the underside of the DW. Look for a broken or pinched wire.

Asko D1716 won't start

Ensure the water is turned on and the door is fully closed, make sure delay start is not set.....

if DW still won't start, I would begin by checking the door switch.

This link will download the owners manual for your unit. Click here
to download the manual.

Hope this helps.

look at the pwr supply box on the dw check for a short to ground in the main pwr wires, otherwise the only field in the dw to trip to breaker is a mtr dead shorted to ground. if that is the case you may want to by a new dw because not to many techs enjoy working on ASKO PRODUCTS or are they certified to do so. so it maybe difficult to get a service company to even look at it and if they do and the mtr is the issue you will be looking at a expensive repair. good luck

DW trips cicuit breaker

I have seen a lot of these older dishwasher break the wires running up to the timer. the break right near the bottom of the door where they flex when you open and close it. I would turn of the power, remove all the torx screws along the inside edges of the door, as well as the 2 on the bottom edge of the door facing up (you cant see them, just gotta feel around for them) and loosen the 2 on the top of the door near the latch ( so you can tilt the control panel out to remove the outer door) follow the wires from the timer down to the bottom of the door and see if any are broken or missing insulation. If not, take the bottom panel of the dishwasher as well and locate the 2 terminals hooked to the heater and check them with an ohmeter to see if they are grounded to the frame of the dishwasher. the dishwasher may be doing a heated rinse just before the dry cycle even though you have low temperature and no heated dry selected, so the problem may still be the heater. Good Luck!

ASKO Overfill protection tripped

Ok, heres what you have to do. Remove the lower toe kick and then remove the panel behind that to gain entry to the lower portion of the dishwasher wher the guts are. You will also have to pull out the little brackets that hold the toe kick and all the screws will be t-15 or t-20 torx (little star shaped bits) Once you have all the panels out of the way, you will find water in the bottom of the tray there tripping the overflow switch. Remove the water with a wet vac or towel or something and the drain pump will stop running. If you can't or don't want to do all this, then just let the dishwasher sit for a few days or so and eventually the water will just evaporate and everything will work normally. Hope This Helps!
