The speakers on my monitor dont work but if i plug headphones in th back of my computer i have sound.had sound in the eveningbut in the morning had nothing is my moniter dead??

First try wiggling and twisting the the mini jack in the socket, that feeds the monitor speakers signal.
Both ends.. at the PC and at the monitor. Hopefully it's that simple.

The other thing to check is - Do you have a seperate power supply for the speakers? Ck it's still plugged in, to the power, and to the speaker feed.
Test the output with a meter to see if it failed. This can be replaced. (Would be cheaper to buy new speakers)

IF no joy at this point, it possible the speaker circuit in the monitor has failed, or the internal power feed to the speakers (if no external one)
Replacement external speakers are not at all expensive, unless you really need Hi Fidelity. That seems unlikely, as you are using monitor speakers which are as poor fidelity as most come.
I'll bet a $25 set of external speakers will sound 10 time better than the monitor ones.

Just hooked up computer and monitor and cant get any sound to play through moniter. do we need external speakers?

The Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW does not have built-in speakers, so yes, you need external speakers separately for sound.

I have a Sceptre X7G Komodo II 17" LCD monitor/built-in speakers

You would need to connect the speakers to your computer. There should be a little jack on the back of the monitor marked audio. This will need to be connected to your soundcard jack for front speakers. Once this cable is connected you should have sound from your speakers. Hope this helps.

Cant get speakers on my monitor to work after I unhooked external

IF you have xp go to control panel/sound,speech and audio. You will see a drop down choice that says change speaker settings. Click on this. Then under the tab that says speaker settings hit advanced. Then select the sound scheme that says monitor with stereo speakers and apply this. Assuming you still have a functioning sound driver this should return it to the monitor speakers. Hope this helps.

No sound through external speakers

Although some monitors have built in speakers, most people have stand alone speakers. If the old monitor had built in speakers and now it is unplugged you won't hear sound. Even if the speaker cable is still plugged into the sound output on the back of your computer, the monitor must be plugged into an electrical outlet to have power.

I'd recommend buying a new set of external speakers if this is the situation.

If you never had speakers built into the monitor then normally changing monitors would make no difference whatever. The only explanation that makes sense under those conditions is that in the process of replacing the monitor, you dislodged the speaker jack from the sound output on the back of the computer.

Make sure your external speakers have electrical power plugged in, the power is on (green light on at least one speaker lights up) and the volume on the speakers is at least half way up.

Unplug the speaker from whatever hole it is plugged into and plug it firmly back in and test sound.

If still no sound other than some static on the speakers, try every single hole on the back of the computer that the jack will fit properly and test for sound.

Let me know if you have further questions.

It doesn't come with speakers. see for yourself here.

If you want external speakers, connect the speakers to the back of the computer. the port will be a small, round green hole. to connect 2 speakers, you need a 3.5mm splitter.

No sound out of monitor speakers

Is there actually any unknown devices in the device`manager?

Are your monitor speakers USB or do they plug into the audio out jack of your sound card or motherboard???

If they plug into the sound jack, then test the sound output with a pair of headphones.

Hope this helps you narrow it down. Please reply back if you need further help
