In all my experience im certain that either it is one of the following two problems.

1. The IDE or SATA cable physically connecting your optical device to the computer is not connected properly please check these by opening up your computer case and locating the reverse side of the optical drive and making sure both ends are connected , one to the motherboard and two in the backside of the optical drive.

2. The optical drive is faulty and will need to be replaced

all modern optical drives are detected by plug and play and judging by your previous attempts to install the device it's one of these problems.

cheers

What can I do to rescue data deleted by pressing "Shift+ Delete" on Windows 7?

Using Shift+Delete to remove files/folders bypasses the recycle bin which is your normal means of recovering accidentally deleted files. You can go to download.com and search for file recovery programs. Some are available that will search your hard drive and can maybe recover what you lost. It is important to do so as quickly as possible because once files are permanently deleted on the hard drive, the sectors that they occupied are no longer protected and can be overwritten by any program or file.

How can i recover my files when i accidentally formatted my drive d twice

The only chance you have is to find a free "undeleete" program and try to recover as much as possible.
Afterformatting a harddrive and later installationof Windows you cant expect to recover that much as - If the position where the file wasstored is owerwritten by windows files - recovery is not possible. If I were you - forget it - bu as mentioned there is a chance to recover some of the files. Search via google for Undeleete program (free) - or by a proper program.

I accidentally delete my cam on control panel and i dont have the cd drive of my laptop....how can i make my webcam back?

Hi there,
You can try two things.
First: System Restore - System restore will restore your computer on an earlier date/time. you can restore your computer the time before you accidentally delete your webcam. to go to System Restore
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. (then Select a date/time that the driver is still installed)
Second: Downloading the driver from Manufacturer's Website -you can try to search for your webcams website and look for the download page.

I accidently deleted my printer and don't know how to re-install it. I am a novice so please help.my printer isa Epson Stylus Photo RX420

Hi ebonyatnight ,

If you have accidentally deleted your printer there is no need to panic as it could be resintalled very easily , please follow the below steps :-
  1. Unplug the printer from your pc , and restart your pc.
  2. After your system boots up , plug in your printer in the USB or ethernet port as per your printer's cable.
  3. You will find a message as new hardware found , and it will ask you for the driver's location for this hardware.
  4. Now you need to install the driver using the driver cd that came along with the printer when you bought it.
  5. Insert the driver cd and it could probably have an autorun function for the printer to be installed which would make things easy for you.
  6. In case there is not such a function , then you just need to select the cd drive in the add new hardware wizard's location for driver option and select ok , so that it will search for the driver files automatically.
Hope this helps ...:)

Hi,

Try to run the following hyperlink

Hyperlink to microsoft automatic assistance

Hyperlink to Cd drive autofix

If it doesnt work then try following steps:

  1. loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Click Start, and then click Run. (in case of windows 7 click start, look for search program and files , type in there regedit and hit ok, jump to step 3)
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  1. In the right pane, click UpperFilters.

Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click
UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 7.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
  3. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  4. In the right pane, click LowerFilters. (dont panic if you dont see lower filter)

    On the
Edit menu, click Delete. (or simply right click and select delete)
  5. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  6. Exit Registry Editor.
  7. Restart the computer

My computer could not recognize cd/ dvd drive. No drive letter or anything.Tried everything but still nothing happened. My driver is working (there is light bleeping) but when i insert a cd, no action....

I had the same issue, not once but twice. Both times however, it required service technicians to fix, and actually replace the device. There was an additional issue however that may have started the decline in the first place. I am unable to get high speed internet, and as a result, many of my updates are interrupted and files slowly become corrupted. If this occurs often enough, it can actually corrupt your O.S. and browser! I had to replace the internal CD/DVD in my computer twice, and the last time, they had to wipe my computer and reinstall the O.S. Not the best of news. What I do now to avoid the problem, is to disable automatic updates, and only update elsewhere where I can get high speed internet services. It's a pain, but better than having the issues that come with slow internet. .
