My CD RW drive is not reading any CD

my CD RW drive is of model GCE 8520B, when i switch on my cd rom light blinks, but it wont read any cd In device manager the drive is showing and it gives message that This device is working porpoerly... can u help in this

Hello,

Here is the download page for the firmware update for this drive:
follow these instructions carefully.

8240firm119.exe
(free registration required at Driver Guide)

Firmware v1.19 for the LG GCE-8240B burner. After downloading double-click the file to start the extraction program. Accept the default unzip folder (C \8240firm119) then click the UNZIP button. 2 files will be written to the folder. One is the firmware (the exe file) and the other is a instructions.txt file. Be sure to read/print the instructions before attempting to use the firmware upgrade. Paying particular attention to the section dealing with whether your drive is OEM or LG. This firmware is only for LG drives and will not work on LG OEM drives. Use this file at your own risk. I nor driverguide.com will not assume any responsibility if your drive is damaged.

We are NOT responsible for any mistakes you make or you loosing power during the flash. You should be on a battery backup power supply to ensure you do not loose power.
