Hi, I have Osaka Gas Heater model 43-540.

A natural gas heater can only burn natural and vice versa unless there are changes such as orifice and regulator. They can easily be converted to use either fuel, but you have to know what fuel supply you have, and what the appliance is set up for. Since you've already tried LPG, if it turns out the appliance is natural gas, then replace the spud (burner nozzle) before trying to operate it again. LPG cannot pass through the small nozzle hole in a natural gas appliance.

The conversion requires new jets in the unit and readjustment of the air /gas ratio shields. Use a qualified gas specialist for the conversion .

I have a Bonaire RT21/NG Portable radiant natural gas heater. Serial No 50327056. Can this be converted to LPG. If so what would be the estimated cost. Many Thanks Sue Blair

Most of the time, all there is to do is remove the regulator spring and replace with a kit for the specific model of valve you have cause there are a lot of them out there regardless of who made it. So yes it can be done easy and for peanuts but one has to know is way around gas to do the job safely. A picture of the gas train and the valve would help a lot. Remember, 1 manufacturer can use many types of valve depending on where it is sold due to local rules & regulations. Hope this helps Regards from Canada Guy

Code 68 appearing on LCD screen off a brivis LPG ducted heater

This is a error that can be fixed with a specific reset sequence. Follow this process carefully. The unit will not turn on for long and turns itself off after about a second so you need to execute step 2 immediately after step one.
Step 1 - Turn on heater
Step 2 immediately press no 1 on the keypad - this will display the error code H01 #68
Step 3 Hold down no 4 for approx 5 secs till the screen goes blank
Step 4 The screen displays all of the settings and resets
Note: you may need to do this a few times before it works - wait some time before retrying. If a reset will fix the problem this is the solution - if it is hardware a service call is required.

We have a Rinnai REH-15F-2A natural gas heater (approx 15 yrs old). it has just started going out, it doesn't leak gas. is this something repairable or beyond repair? thanks tameka

Tameka, what you described sounds like the Thermocouple or Thermopile is failing. If your heater is a Flue-less heater, the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) which is part of the Pilot assembly, may simply need cleaning. Any of the causes I listed are repairable and would require a service technician to do it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Bonaire Vulcan ducted heating system flashes F08 and HC 01. What do I do?

I was able to fix my Pyrox ducted gas heater (flashing between HC01 and F08 by pressing the reset button on the main PCB located in the main heating unit.
The reset button is located next to a set of indicator led's. It's easy to get to by just removing the covering shroud.

Hi im a plumber/gas fitter who has been asked if i can convert a wildcat 410 (a2) ser 1983 from lpg to ng which is currently in use at a crash repair spray booth is this possible?

Yes look up the gas valve part # and find the LP kit for that model number. It will come with new pilot orifice, new burner orifices and the springs to replace inside the gas valve. Remember that natural gas is .08"wc and LP is a heavier gas it needs to be set at 11"wc .You need a manometer to check the pressure before you light it again .Did you know that propane provides more energy per unit volume than natural gas. Heat is measured in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. Propane provides about 2500 BTUs for the same volume of natural gas that only gives 1000 BTUs.

Old gravity Heater kicks off to early

I recommend that you begin by calling your supplier of natural gas. They offer a free service whereby they will come to your home and check out your heater. They will also show you exactly how it operates. good luck.

Four things cause icing up:
( 1 ) Is your filter clean? dirty filter blocks air flow causing iceing up. replace filter
( 2 ) Do you hear the Indoor fan running? If the fans not running the unit ices up. Check Capacitor to fan if good.
Bad fan motor... replace fan motor and cap. If both good
( 3 ) Check Air Handler evap coil if dirty and or clogged, restricts air flow causing unit to ice up. Use toilet brush to clean.
This is always a big possibility if you have pets.
( 4 ) If the above are not present then you are low on refrigerant.
Low refrigerant will cause icing up because the gas does not flash properly. This will require a service tech.
refrigerant leaks can be as simple as a loose cap on the king valve, leaking schrader core, to coil leak.
Have the service tech show you the leak. If it is in a copper line it can be fixed. If the system is over 10 years old limit the amount you want to spend. 10 years is the standard life expectantcy anymore. Good luck
