I have a 3978906 whirlpool dryer. Like another has had happened, everything is working fine, No heat. The igniter is lighting, and things are clicking, but no fire. I have little experience with dryers. I have taken it all apart and cleaned the sensors. It lights the first time, every time, I mess with it, but then it quits after the first "cycle" Any ideas? I haven't taken the belt off the motor to test things while operation, but I'm very confused by the fact that there is 120v. to both sides of everything when I check it when it's off.

Generally, with a gas dryer, there is an ignition device that heats to a specific temperature and this causes the gas to ignite. When this electric ignition fails to work, the gas will not ignite and there will be no heat. I had this happen and had to call a professional. It was a simple matter of installing a new ignition device and it worked perfectly for years. I hope this helps! If it is a new dryer, check to see if this part might be covered under warranty

Whirlpool Duet: GGW9200lq0 Dryer Works, No HEAT runs fine but has no heat... vent is clear

This happened to me. Turned out it was a gas valve fracture which had to be replaced by the gas company. That's if you have a gas dryer

I have a LEN3434AWO Whirlpool dryer. Everything is working fine except there is no heat. Please help! Thanks!

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Your power for the burner assy goes on a series circuit from the timer to the high-limit thermostat to the operating thermostat to the thermal fuse to the gas burner assy, thru the motor centrifugal switch to the door switch. EACH of these must be functioning for the burner to light.

This manual will help with some of the how to do it as far as component access, removal and replacement of parts.

Dryer does not release any heat

Is yours the gas model? If so I need you to look for some things. Open back door panel and see if while trying to light the igniter is glowing orange. Sea Breeze

Dryer is running but it's not hot

If the electronic start is not working, it may need to be replaced. Call an appliance parts store and ask some specific questions to them about how you can test that component and if they carry a replacement for your specific make and model. Good Luck!
