My Goodman unit won't cool below 78 degrees inside during this heatwave. The thermostat says

your home may not be insulated well enough or you could have leaking duct or your system may not be charged correctly ac systems are not sized to cool below 76 degrees above 90 degrees outdoors because this will increase your utility bills during the cooler temperatures. thank your governement and all the regulations we have to follow for this. they would rather you save money than be comfortable. and we are actually in violation of state law and federal law if we install a unit that will cool below 76 degrees on 90 degree outdoor temp

Dear customer service, I actualy don't have a technical problem with my Honeywell Chronoterm. I'am looking to find an english manual which will allow me to operate it. Most a website that I browsed to,...

Yannis,

FixYa doesn't have these manuals - nor is it associated with Honeywell. FixYa is a bunch of technical people with all types of expertise that like to help people with problems. As such, most of us would simply point you to a website where you can download the manual for free. Emailing requires you to download, too so I don't know why you want it emailed as opposed to simply downloading it yourself directly.

If you want a copy of the manual mailed to you - you'll have to contact Honeywell directly.

Lastly - Honeywell makes a "boatload" of thermostats. The Chronotherm line has a number of different types. To get the right info - you'll need to provide the full model whether it is a ChronoTherm IV or ChronoTherm CM67 or other model - regardless of who you make the request to.

If I can help - let me know - be sure to include the full model number with your request.

My ac is not cooling even when its on high,,,it feels like it is on fan...Help we are having a heatwave....:(

typically that would mean either the compressor is not operating (that wouuld likely be a bad starting capacitor) ... or if the compressor runs ok but still doesnt cool then its probably low on refrigerant .. and that means there is a leak ... a service man would locate the leak, repair then refill with the proper reftigerant (r134a probably or r22 in older equipment) .. he would have to add a service port to allow refilling .. thats like a saddle valve . ... listen for the compressor .. if it just buzzes but doesnt run then suspect the starting capacitor (rounded metalic part about 3 inch) that will be connected to the compressor with 2 or 3 wires .. if the compressor seems to start then suspect low refrigerant .. make sure all the coils are clean and not iced over ..

For air conditioners is also stay at 64 i dont go up or down whit the remote why

Please elaborate! I'm unsure if your A/C will not change temperature without the remote. Some units have a "lock" which if set, will keep the unit at the same temperature & if it's only not working with your remote, my guess is that your remote is bad or the batteries are dead or placed in it incorrectly (or may have leaked & ruined the remote.)

Centrex a/c keeps shutting off every 15 minutes ( split system)

To start, check your condencer fan and make sure the condenser is clean. After that you will need a technician with instruments. If the switching off is constant, after approx. every 15 min.it could be switching off on high pressure.

Hi Erin, I am not familiar with this particualar model, but should advise you that most aircons have a manual "on" button, sometimes behind the grill cover. This should see you through while you are waiting for a remote.
