you can download the driver from hp website. Just follow the steps in downloading the driver
1. go to www.support.hp.com
2. enter your product number which is (photosmart 2610)
3. choose HP photosmart 2610 all-in-one
4. click software and driver downloads
5. choose your operating system and click next
= to know your operating system just click start then right click my computer or computer then click properties
6. click driver - product installation software
7. click HP officejet and photosmart full feature software and drivers
8. click download then run
You can try buffing the contacts gently but this happens quite often with generic cartriges sometimes they just don't work. Contact the vendor and explain the issue, I reckon you'll find that they're fairly used to this problem and will request a return for a refund.
