Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Network Adapter I am fixing a computer for a friend and he has a P4P800-VM Asus motherboard, but in device manager when I try to install the ethernet driver it says it's a Intel (R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection. I have tried to update the driver but fails all the time. It comes up with the wizard saying yes for the first time, Yes everytime i connect, or No this time. When I push yes for the first time, then go to the next step either recommend or advance when I push advance and search for it. It won't load do you have any advice at all. Thanks email me at smith_stuart2@hotmail.com

My network with onborad not wok , why ?

Try to check the network device in your device manager if they are installed in your computer. Just right click the My Computer then click properties. System Properties dialogue box appears click Hardware then click Device Manager. Device Manager dialogue box appears, check if the Network Adapter of your device manager have no problem. Note: If the device have a mark like this, ? or ! it means the device have a problem. If they have a mark like that, you need to install the driver of your Network Adapter to work it normally. Just right click the Network Adapter device then click Update Driver. After that, insert your cd driver in the cd-rom then click Next button and follow the instruction on the screen to finish installing that driver. But it the device has no any mark like this; ? or ! the device have no problem.

Ethernet Connection not working

If you have installed the hard drive, in any instance it has no conflict with your ethernet card, i suggest you should reinstall the drivers that come up with your Ethernet Card. Try to download Driver Magician on your computer and scan your computer for updates on your drivers.

P4p800-vm pci slot is not recognising the add on card ( TV tuner)

There is no PCI-E slot on this motherboard. It has an AGP 8x slot and 3 PCI slots, but no PCI-E. Therefore, even if you could manage to get the PCI-E card physically into the slot it will never work.

Here is a link to the manual - http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock478/p4p800-vm/e1338_p4p800-vm.pdf

Ethernet controller with big yellow question mark

You need to reinstall the software for that, if its a ethernet card built in to your motherboard you can find the software for it from the motherboard setup CD , and if its a additional device to your computer just run the setup CD for it to reinstall the software back....
