You should consult the service, not the website where you ordered it.

I am thinking of acquiring a second hand brother xl computerised sewer. Are they good machines

Brother machines are so basic and general that if you purchase a pre-owned one, you will be having to take it to the repair center shortly. Really. But if you are just an every now & again sewer, or just want to learn? Then a good price on a Brother machine may not be too bad of an idea or purchase - Key Word = Good Price. Well I guess 2 words.
Here is a hint*** - Go to your local sewing center, any local sewing center! Not a Joannes or the sewing dept of your local big box dept store, but a Real sewing center. You will find that they carry One Brand maybe two of the big name brand. And that is because they are the "Authorized" dealer for that Name Brand. Some will be BabyLock, Others Viking Husqvarna, and yet others Pfaff or Janome. These are the High Quality Name brand machines. You can find Singer & Brother at Wal-Mart and Target! Go to a couple of them that are the "Dealer" for different names. But what you are going to look for is their "Pre-Owned" Machines!!! Take Notice: How many Brothers will you see? Probably not much! If at all! So, after you did this little experiment. Make / Take a look at your budget... then get a good beginners Pfaff or Janome. Price wise - Slightly higher but not much and you will be ALL the happier and wiser for this choice.
Good Luck

Brother sewing machine cs6000 hand wheel hard to turn by hand

before you race the machine into a service centre, most hard to turn problems are from thread and fluff wound around the bobbin shaft in the base of the machine. Use a pin/ needle to remove the thread /fluff then oil the machine using light machine oil. If it is still stiff , take it to a service centre.

What sewing machine is better mechanical or computerized and which brand is better singer or brother

That is the question that perlexes every sewer looking for a new machine and is so much a matter of personal choice. Mechanical machines are simplier in terms of repairs as there is no or very little circuitry to replace whereas a computerised machine usually has several stepper motors and circuit boards. But if you want to sew alphabets, do keyhole buttonholes or machine embroidery, then computerised is the only way. Stitching out 10 perfectly matched buttonholes is simple with a computerised machine as you stitch out one, save it, then repeat it over and over as many times as you like until you turn off the machine. It is interesting that Bernina who have certainly been regarded as the Rolls Royce of sewing machines made in Switzerland, are making a mechanical model again despite having a wide range of computerised machines too. Sometimes simple is best, especially for a sewer miles from a dealership who may need to tackle simple repairs themselves.

As to the Singer or Brother, I couldn't comment on that, most sewing machines are now made in Asia and quality control should ensure that each machine is ready to sew. The best way is to draw up a list of the features you have to have, those that would be nice to have and then go test sew several brands that fit your list. Then make your purchase choice based on which machine ticks the most boxes, comes with the accessories you need, and has good after sales service and support that is easy to access. Sometimes the cheapest model from the internet is not the smartest buy long term if you have no one to go ask for help with it.

I have a Brother LX3125 14-Stitch Sewing Machine and I am having problems with both the tension on the top thread and bottom thread. Ive tried adjusting it and it hasnt helped. What else could be wrong?...

Take it back to the dealer you bought it from. But you can try changing the needle, make sure the bobbins thread is unwinding the right way, what thread are using, cotton, polyester, etc. Try changing material, needle, does it do it on Streight stitch and zigzag. Let me know about these questions.
