Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Convergence IC I have a Phillips 60PP9202 Rear Projection TV and my screen currently looks like an hourglass. I have been reading and I think I need to change or adjust my Convergence IC's. I was just wondering if you have any suggestions on where to find these, how to fix and cost?? Thanks, Brian bpieper65@hotmail.com

Good Day, bpieper65;
You want fix and cost cost? Well if you have skills of soldering of electronic devices you can do this and you can get the parts from B&D Enterprises; 1-800-458-6053;www.bdent.com. Repairing ityour self will cost you about $50.00 and 2.5 to 3.0 hours of work if all goes well.
If you call an Authorized Sevice Center, that will warranty their repair, it will cost between $300.00 to $600.00.
I hope his was helpful, Good Luck, big IRISH.

Replacing the convergence board will require a complete convergence adjustment. A better solution would be the replacing of the defective convergence IC. This would retain the convergence settings for the set. I'll locate the part numbers and costs and update this later.

If you are familiar with TV repair, have electronics basic knowledge, good soldering skills and tools then check dry (cold) soldering joints at D board of this TV. Resold all lose connections there and check picture.
Still no joy then you need to replace D board.

I just did it myself and it ran about $80. Make sure you get the IC's (2) and I would replace the 12 resistors.
