No, charging the battery via USB port is not possible with your Fuji Finepix Z20fd Digital Camera. The USB port can be used for just 2 purposes: (1) connect to USB-compatible printer (to directly print pix), and (2) connect to a PC with a USB port (to upload pix). The only way to charge the camera's batttery
looks like the separate "supplied battery charger."

Check out page iv. of the onine version of your camera"s Users Manual.

Can't find my charge adapter for my Jazz HD 188. Will it charge by plugging into the USB port of my PC?

Some phones charge the battery in the camera like a phone, but many do not. This camera has a USB connection, which is meant to be used to transfer photos from the camera to a computer. If your (now lost) charger was plugged into the camera to charge it, and it plugged into the USB connector, then you can charge the camera with any lead that will fit the USB connector, as this will have a standard voltage. You can even charge it from the computer, without buying a separate charger.

However, if your charger charged the batteries outside the phone, by removing them from the phone and placing them in the charger, then it is very unlikely that they will charge in the phone, whatever you connect to it. I have a camera just like this, that requires an external charger.

Can i charge the camera other than through the usb cable ??

Hi!

USB charging is not possible. You need to have the battery charger to be able to fully charge the battery. This should come along with the camera kit.

USB charging is possible if you will buy this: http://fujifilm.co.uk/consumer/digital/digital-accessories/usb-chargers-travel-adaptors-153171/world-adaptor-plus-usb-charger

"For charging by USB, simply change the head and plug in your iPod, mobile phone, PDA or any other 5V USB powered device to keep it fully charged wherever you are."

Can you trickle charge the Olympus FE-20 via the usb cable?

Very few cameras will charge through USB ports. This is only to connect to computer to access pictures. Your camera will not charge via USB. I suggest to many people that using cameras that take AA batteries is the best cameras to buy when traveling. Many camera owner fall victim to different voltage outlets when travelling.

USB Cord

try changing the USB cord to avoid purchasing one, bring your camera to your retailer and ask them if you can try to charge it there, if it does you have to purchase a new USB cable through myaccessorymall.com if the camera is still in warranty, you can try to call samsung and ask them for a new USB cable

My camera is not charging

I got this camera from my friend's daughter. She told me she only used it a few times and won't charge. At first, I tried to charge it thru the USB port, got a brief green light then 3 red blinks just like others. So, I tried to charge it thru a powered USB hub and it charges. Once it fully charged, I took some pictures and tried to charge it again thru a regular USB (not the powered USB hub I used earlier) and it is charging right now. This is also true for a certain cell phones. If you let the battery drained its power completely all the way, you must charge it with a high current charger to wake up the battery before you can charge thru USB port.

Charging camera

Are you using the front usb ports on your computer? My computer's front usb ports were not able to charge my camera, but the rear usb ports were able to (the charging light should stay on if it's charging correctly). I'm not an expert on this stuff, so maybe there's a power output difference between your frontal and rear usb ports.

Also, on the CD there was a camera connection driver. You might try installing that and see if that makes a difference?
