1) You must see if the circuit where the microwave is overload, you must use the amperimeter and see how many amperes are reading when all the load in the circuit 7 are running. if is normal about 10amp-12amps the circuit is o.k
2) test the c.breaker can be faulty, since there are NOT tripped.
3) However you must see if the lines for power in that circuit is loose?
4) Tight very well the Neutral +Ground
5) see the diagram attached, and correct if the outlet is wrong.
6) If you are NOT qualified to do this electrical job , call some electrician for to avoid danger to your home or yourself.

Of course you must test the microwave magnetron for faulty or short in the magnetron+diode+transformer+capacitor. ISOLATED the microwave first and then troubleshooting the circuit of your home.
God bless you

Trips electricity

I would check out your breaker at your box . See what amps it is rated and see what your microwave is . Also your micro wave should only be on 1 breaker with nothing else on it

GE microwave: model 1840 circuit breaker trips when strarting micro wave

Hi,

Circuit Breakers do weaken over usage. It is not usually a time factor as much as a load factor. Each time a circuit breaker trips, it loses its ability to carry the same load as it did previously. In other words, a 15 amp breaker only carries the ability to carry 15 amps once. I recommend replacing the circuit breaker with one that has a matching rating. If you do feel up sizing is necessary, check the load rating of the appliances to make sure the additional size really is necessary. Increasing power to appliances that shouldn't need it increases the risks of potential electrical fires and masking real issues. Try changing it with higher amp breakers.

You could try a new plug just in case, next the fuse inside or thermal cut out could be @ fault, could be the cable transformer end as it enters the micro.....

I went to use my mirowave & it is completely gone. I pushed every button that I could & nothing happens. What should I do

first check the breaker in the electrical panel. your microwave should be on a circuit with nothing else. Depending on when the house was constructed. If the breaker is tripped turn it off and back on. If the microwave is plugged into a gfic outlet check to see if the receptacle needs reset. There will be a reset button on the receptacle. Their may be a orange light on the receptacle.

The circuit breaker to the micro wave was tripped and when reset the microwave did not work it just hums also the lights and fan does not work. What's up with that?

the hi voltage transformer is still operating, but the rest is dead, you could remove outer cover and see if there are 2 fuses, most only have 1 fuse, sounds like new microwave time

The past Few days the microwave would trip the breaker. today I went to use it and it worked for 30 seconds when I checked what I was heating and turned it bakc on and it would not work

Microwaves that are either built in, a part of the oven, or over the range are on a dedicated circuit by law. This means nothing else could have tripped that breaker but the microwave.
If it has a problem severe enough to trip a 20 amp breaker several times, it is only getting worse each time you reset the breaker and turn it on.
There is a possible chance of fire. I recommend you turn the circuit breaker off and replace the microwave. Is it a plug in, or over the range type?
