Canon powershot A410 (postcard Date imprint Mode)

I have a company owned camera, and I cannot access the Embedding the Date in the Image Data in the menu per page 34 of the owners manual. It is off / grayed out and I cannot figure out how to turn it on.

Please advise,
Thank you,

When in shooting mode, push the func/set button. this will bring up a menu with highlighted features selected in red. push the down arrow to go to image size, use the right arrow to scroll over to highlight "postcard." you will notice it is a smaller image size, so you're sacrificing size for information.

once you highlight the "postcard" setting, press the func/set button again.

this will exit you from the menu and return to shooting mode. then press the "menu" button and you will notice that the date/time stamp setting is now changeable. select what information you want on your image.

To turn on the camera simply press the on/off button on the top of the camera.
to view information about when the photo was taken ect. press "disp" button, when your camera is in the display setting (blue triangle).

How do i turn on the date and time stamp on my canon powershot SD 300

Set the Postcard Date Imprint. See page 74 of the manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0900001380/01/PSSD300200CUG-EN.pdf

However, this mode reduces the resolution so that you won't be able to make prints much larger than postcard size. If you want to set a higher resolution so you can make larger prints, then the camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them.

All is not lost, though. The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

How to get the date imprint in photos

there's only one mode where you can superimpose the date and time with pictures using your camera. try to use Postcard mode and then check under mode menu if date stamp is set to either date or date and time.

Canon sd1000 time and date dispay on images

The SD1000 has a built-in date stamp function but it is only available in the postcard (1600x1050) function mode. Once you switch to this mode, you can then enable the datestamp feature in the main menu.

If this is unacceptable, you can use some image editing software to add the datestamp after the photo is transferred to your computer. The date/time information is actually stored in the image's EXIF information.

Macro mode and date imprint

In Macro mode, you have to hold the shutter release down halfway and hold it until the focusing system has time to work, then take picture.

Date/Time stamp on image only works in Postcard mode.

No date imprint

Any printing lab that knows their maching can print the date on digital images by request. If they can't or won't accomodate this simple request, find another lab. In particular, the Fuji Frontier labs have this function readily available to the operator. They shouldn't charge you anything extra to do it, either, as it's only the press of 1 button.
