Sometimes the internal shaft for the pump motor will either break or loosen, the pump seems to be fine until you take it apart and see the insids. you probably need a new pump like i did.

My defy dtl 151 isn't pumping out water. Machine is about 1 year old. What can I check?

do u mean its not draining or adding water to go into agitation>

Washer will not drain:

The drain water pump is the main part in your washing machine that pumps out the water. If this is defective or has failed in any way, this will be the reason why your washer will not drain the water. Before you order a new drain pump, make sure to check the pump to be sure a small object like clothing or similar has not lodged itself inside of it causing the NO DRAIN issue and even a no spin issue?. If the drain pump is not clogged, you can test it with a multimeter and remove and replace if needed.

The washing machine drain hose is where the water flows through to get the water out. If this drain hose is blocked, kinked, bent, or clogged, the washer will NOT be able to remove the water from the tub. Check the drain hose to be sure it allows the water to flow freely. You can take the drain hose off and run water through it in your sink to be sure it is not blocked. If there is water STILL in the washer when you remove the drain hose, grab a bucket as the water will exit from where you disconnected it

The water pump belt (to drain out the water) may have broke or become frayed or loose. If this belt breaks then it is unable to drain and remove the water from your washer. Inspect the belt to see if this is causing the NO DRAIN issue and remove and replace if needed.

If the lid switch is not working as required it will cause your washer to not drain (and many other problems). This may be unlikely as a bad lid switch will usually cause your washer to also not agitate or spin. However on some models this can vary. The best thing to do if you have a suspected bad lid switch is to test it. It can fail electrically and or mechanically. If mechanical failure is the issue, you should be able to see if it is cracked, broken, or not in place to make contact with the lid. To test it electrically, use a multimeter set on Ohms and test it for continuity

Not pumping out water

Most likely cause is a blocked drain hose. With water in machine try removing the drain hose from where it joins the house drainage (connection to waste under sink or pipe that is specifically for WM.) Put this in a bowl and lower bowl to floor. If water runs out the drain hose is not blocked, if no water runs then the hose is blocked. If water runs then the pump is either broken or blocked - when it should be pumping if it makes a noise then it is not broken.

To unblock the hose or pump - drain the water from the machine (there should be a small pipe hidden behind a front cover at the bottom of the machine put this in a bowl (it will be very slow.) Once drained you should be able to access the pump (it is really an impeller) this should have a screw on front, undo this and remove you should now be able to clean the pump housing. You can also check whether the hose is blocked by blowing down it or pouring water down it. If it is blocked then squeezing the corrugated part of the hose will free some of the blockage. Keep doing this until water can be poured down it. If you live in a hard water area then it would be worth while doing a very hot wash on a regular basis to removed undissolved soap from the machine.

Good Luck

My fisherpaykel top loader washing machine wont drain water or spin it beeps and 3 lights come on

I worked out that code to be 37
info for fault 37

37. (00100101) Pump Blocked Error (No change in the water level)
While draining, the water level reading from the pressure sensor has not changed for over 3
minutes. There are three likely reasons for this fault. One is that the drain hose or the
pressure switch hose has been squashed or kinked and the pump out rate has been
dramatically reduced. The second possibility is that the pump is partially or fully blocked.
The third is that the pump is not operating due to Motor Control Module, wiring or pump
failure. This fault could also appear if the machine is pumping to an unusually high head of
drain hose or into an extended length of drain hose. The fourth possibility is a diverter
valve fault or blockage, water level is not altering as the diverter is stuck in the recirculation
mode, giving the module the appearance the pump is not lowering the water level.
Primary Source: Pump System.
Action: 1) Check that the drain hose has not been kinked.
2) Check the length of the drain hose and try to reduce the length if
excessively long. A 1-metre extension hose of the same diameter
fitted to the existing drain hose is the maximum allowable length.
3) Check for open circuit windings in the pump. (Note: Pumps are
fitted with a thermal cut-out, which will reset on cooling.)
4) If the bowl is empty of water, remove the pump from the pump
housing and check that it is not blocked. Also check the drain
hose is not blocked.
5) If the bowl contains water, then service the pump from the top of
the machine by removing the top deck and inner bowl. Bail out the
water, remove the pump cap and hood and clear the restriction.
Secondary Source: Wiring.
Action: 1) Check the pump harness is connected correctly to the pump.
2) Check continuity of the pump harness.
Tertiary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Activate the pump by operating the machine in spin mode. Check the
pump is rotating. If it is not operating, and Primary and Secondary
checks have been performed, then replace the Motor Control Module.

My wf t1001tp wont drain...can anyone help?

sounds like a blocked drain hose or a faulty pump motor..If the machine can be drained by putting the drain hose lower than the water level then the hose is not blocked and it may be the pump...Make sure the hose leaves the machine from under the tub and not high on rear of washer. Obviously water won't flow uphill..If the pump has failed a new pump motor is much cheaper than buying a whole new pump....Nomess

It wont drain the water away after a wash we

sounds like your pump may be gone, or could be pipe blocked. to check pipe fill machine take outlet pipe at rear of machine and lay this into a bowl. If water flows ok then all pipes are clear. As water is coming through just put machine onto spin cycle and raise hose to see if water will then pump out.

Water is always left in the machine when the cycle finishes

Because the water pump operates as a timed cycle, a partially blocked water passage either from the outer drum to the pump, inside the pump, or from the pump to the house drain is restricting the amount of water being pumped. Remove the drain hose from the house drain just enough that you can watch the water flow during a normal pump cycle. The water should be coming out quite forcefully--if just a trickle, then something is blocking the flow. Look for kinked hoses or even a slow running pump.
