If you have two routers in the network (the cable router and your own router), make sure you only use one dhcp. If you use two, it make thing more complicated. To test the router you should properly disconnect other connections that is not being tested. Finally try to reset the router to factory setting. If you are using USB Network device, make sure the USB port provide enough power to power-on the device. Double check the key....Good luck

SOURCE: Really unstable Dlink dir-655 router

I would suggest you try to change the channel to a higher one and this solves this problem most of the times...You need to go to your router configuration to do that usually by opening a browser and type 192.168 ... and log in into your router...Hope this helps.

SOURCE: dlink DIR-615 wireless connection problem

hi. with regards to your concern. there is a possibility that the wireless network adapter driver is corrupted.. try uninstalling the driver for your wireless adapter and reinstall again. once setup is done, view the available wireless connection and connect.. it will ask u the password if there is..then it will connect. if this solution dont work.. try to check your wireless settings, maybe there is a problem on the settings..

My dlink is not connecting.

Have you reset the D-Link to default setting, and reconfigure the SSID and the Security Key? Perhaps this will help: http://www.dlink.com/-/media/Consumer_Products/DIR/DIR%20835/Manual/DIR-835_Manual_US.pdf

D-Link Dir 600 Wireless disconnects

Sounds like you have a bad device. Can you return it? Is it under warranty? You have changed cables, check pins in the DLink connector for bent pins? etc. I use a little vaseline on the copper to prevent oxidation, sounds weird, I know, but it works. I live it a humid climate. Try a Contact Spray for electronics, it's a life saver.

Connect the cable from your internet provider to the internet port.

The blue ports or 1 - 4 is for non wlan connections
such as a desktop pc or a network printer.

You maybe have to setup the wireless network with a code
so others can`t use your internet.

Good luck

I have a DIR-600 router to connect my Cable modem and use wireless connection to connect to the internet. It was all working fine till my modem LAN port got damaged somehow.I have changed the modem and now...

Try following this order before you connect your computer to the router.
power off all your equipment (cable modem & router & your computer's wireless card)
first, power on the cable modem, give it some time to boot up and get an IP from the ISP, say 30 secs.
then, power on the router, again, give it some time to boot and obtain its internet IP from the cable modem
finally, enable wireless on you computer and connect to the router.

if this doesn't solve the problem try resetting the router to factory defaults by pressing the reset button at its back for about 10 seconds with the router powered on.

This your router's manual it may turn handy:

I have an issue with my Dlink DIR-625 wireless and cable modem

it isn't syncing up with your modem, try a hard reboot, disconect everything, even the cable, after 5 minutes , first screw the coax cable back to the modem, that will re establish the cable connection, plug everything back in, and if that pc light still is still doesn't work, the router may be bad, look on the Dlink site and download the latest firmware, as a last resort, but also reset the router first before trying anything, there is a reset button on the router. Sometimes certain routers don't work with certain modems, if you try the reset, then the hard reboot, and the firmware, you have covered all the bases
