Question about Cannon Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a Cannon PIXMA MP780 that has stop printing. I have removed it from the computer and reinstalled. After many tries I got it to print one page and it quit. Do i need new drivers?

Yes, sometimes you need a updated driver for your printer to make it work properly, check it from Canon site for the updated driver and that should fix it.

Replaced ink cartridges, printer goes through all the motions, but paper comes out blank. I have done all the maintenance steps. What gives?


Cannon ink cartridges go into a print head. This is normally a removable box the ink cartridge sits in.

First remove the head and the cartridges from it. Now try this to clean the old ink off the print head, rub/soak the print head in alcohol. Make sure the print head is complete dry and place the ink back in it and return to the printer. Try to print a page, if you have the same results you need to replace the print head.

Pixma MP780 that will not print


Hi

If you have installed the driver and can print out a test page that means your computer is communicating with your printer.

Try to use wordpad and before you print, hit on ctrl-p then choose the pixma as your default printer. then try to print the document, you can use microsoft word as well for testing.

I have a Canon PIXMA MP780. It won't print except


If you can print the nozzle test then that proves most of the electronics, it could be the driver is screwed.
Since you can get something out that is intelligent e.g. the larger font lettering then it is processing the file sent to it.
By that I mean rasterising it, converting it to dots of ink, so it can print onto the page as the heads moves back and forth.
Why not try another computer and connect your printer to that one, or try a different file, or even send it a file you've printed successfully in the past before you started to have this problem.

The ip4300 will do duplex but you have to in and put a check mark by the DUPLEX to get both sides to print. Also make sure you select BOOKLET PRINTING so the page layout is back to back so it can be reead like a book as you flip the pages. Hope this helps. Bud

NOT PRINTING FROM WORKS


Did you install the canon drivers for the printer?

Windows vista ha a 'built in' version for this printer, and reports suggest they work better than the canon ones.

You will need to remove the device by doing the following steps:

Right click on My Computer -> click on Device Manager on the left of this window

Select your printer from the list that appears. Right click on this and select delete.

Restart your PC.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers.

Is the error light flashing?

From the printer utility can you print a nozzle check sheet or align the printhead?

Does it seem to be printing (feeding sheet and moving printhead) or nothing happening at all?

Try removing all the tanks, take out the head. If blocked try cleaning manualy by running warm water over the ink ports/printhead jets - dry off and reinstall.

PIXMA MP780 "WRONG CARTRIDGE" MESSAGE?
Here is what I did and it now works just fine.I turned off the printer and unplugged the power cord, and unplugged it from my computer. I then removed all the ink cartriges and removed the print Head I got some rubbing alcohol put it on some toilet paper and wiped down the back and bottom of the print head.Plugged everything back in and It now works better then ever.
