Heater wont light

Starter lights pilot light but heater wont light.

The problem is the thermocoupler. it is the other small tube next to the pilot light. this tube sends a signal to the main valve to let the fuel go through. sometimes you have to change the whole pilot unit.

Is it Propane check pilot light and if youhave gas make sure that you do notlight a flflame or cigerette if gas has been on without pilot light lit make sureto tthen gas line off clear place of fumes them turn gas on and relight pilot light

I have a nexgrill propane patio heater the pilot light works but when i turn it to lo or high after a minute or so the pilot light stays on but the burner wont light

My pilot light wont light and my heater will not stay on.The ignitor is cliking as if it works but will not ignite and if I manually light it the lighter will not stay on.


Essentially all gas devices regardless of which gas used, are equipped with a thermocouple that monitors the pilot light's condition and if it fails, it will not permit the main flame to light or the pilot light to stay lit. In your case, it may be that the TC failure also prevents the lighting of the pilot light.

Pilot won't stay lit - will eventually light after holding pilot starter button down for 20 minutes but is getting worse.


you need to replace the thermacouple it looks like a thin long copper tube next to the pilot light it should cost no more then £5.00

If it is a thermocoupler type pilot safety, clean pilot and replace thermocoupler, Good luck.If it has a powerpile generator, replace generator.

My pilot light wont stay lit


Hi try cleaning the pilot light out make sure the thermo couple is in the flame,check where the tcouple goes in to the valve nothing stuck in there try this it could be the valve not working

Heater wont stay on it lights but once i let go of the starter button it goes out


you need to replace the thermocouple probe at the pilot flame point, i is copper tubing and attached to the gas valve

Just moved; gas was turned off now heater wont come on


If this is a newer furnace, you don't light the pilot. It has electronic ignition.

Let me know and I can give you additional instruction.
