Same problem with my CR249 - Crosley Radio Keepsake USB Turntable. After plugging in and turning on the player, the light does not turn on and the motor does not start up.  The player worked fine for 6 months, then stopped.  I checked the switch and it appears to be functional, along with the cord and the the power is being transferred to the plug in the player, but no response.  Wires all seem to be intact...

our CR249 worked for more than a year and then just stopped. I've checked the AC power adapter and it's putting out the voltage. (18v actually vs the 12v shown on the turntable, but it's the p/s that came with the player)
    Anybody got any solutions?

I have the same problem with my Crosley Turntable stereo. I've been able to determine the proble is the power Transformer. 115v in, and nothing out. I attached a separate transformer and it powered up. The problem that remains is finding the correct power rated transformer. The transformer that came built in has no information as to it's power rating.

How do I fix my power adapter?

Could be the capacitors that filter the final D.C voltage in the power apadter . If the capacitors fail the D.C voltage would have 50 or 60 hertz hum on it. If a diode has failed it could also cause a more severe pulsing of DC voltage. A oscilloscope would show up if the DC is being distorted but I do not know where you would get access to one. A repair shop maybe ?

No power to my 1210 MK2s

Open the turntable. It sounds like the on/off switch is bad. Remove the platter and screws with a phillips screw driver and just make sure the connections are in place. make sure you disconnect the power first.

I have a crosley record player and the power will turn on then turn off within 2 seconds so my record player won't power up. I purchased a new adapter and it is still doing the same thing. What would you...

It sounds like some kind of overload inside the turntable itself. Taking off the underside of the deck might show a faulty part. Just trace where the power from the adapter enters and where it goes two. That should lead to the culprits. Overloads are generally caused by a short-circuited device. Most often a semi-conductor device.

CDJ-800 Mk1 No sound output!!!

Not true! CD channels don't require a pre-amp and the cartridge for a turntable does. I suspect that when the power went off the mixer was still on, so that when power was restored it came back on. However this resulted in a surge inside the unit. Magnetic cartridge pre-amps are often very sensitive to this kind of thing and will sometimes fail, while everything else works fine. This would result in no sound from the record decks, but sound from CD players etc.

I have a Sony turntable - model number # PS LX295. I have been looking for a reciever for it. So far nothing, What can I do to power the turntable?

It is powered by 12v. Check any extra power adapters you have as 12v is common for a power adapter. 120ACinput to12v DC output but not more than 600ma. The one I'm using runs 400ma. BUT, the problems is that since the line level output of the LX295 is much lower than other line levels (CD player, tape player) you'll need a pre-amplifier. I added power to mine but don't have a pre amp to boost the level enough for the computer to even register it. Sony's tech sheet on the unit says the output lines runs 2.5 mV while one coming from a tape deck or cd player runs 250mV. You can buy record player preamps as many record players are the same way. Of the 3 power wires coming out of the unit, the one with long dashes on it is the negative and the one on the other side is positive. I'm not sure about the one in the middle as I've tried it both + and - and the unit runs the same without anything to it. Probably a remote signal from the original unit. It's easier to go to a Goodwill store or get one made for "stand alone" use.

I have purchased a Crosley cr40 mini turntable which has a american ac adpater. I bought a universal adaptor and my record player started spinning but a small plume of smoke started coming from the plug...

It could be the adapter is just faulty, but you can't tell to you get power to the unit if any part has failed inside (most liklely the transformer if it has).
I found this step-down adapter on amazon which should do the trick, not expensive either.
