Not powering up when shut door - Dishwashers

Would be most helpful if you specified the actual make and model of your dishwasher...

However in the meantime, my first path of deduction begs to ask the simple question's:

Have you set the dial to wash or even a short wash in order to activate the cycle.

More information would be helpful in correctly ascertaining your situation.
This could help determine if this is a common problem with your model, or perhaps it could
be something else entirely

Otherwise I am here guessing that maybe the breaker has flipped in your electric panel

Or

Maybe you have a butter knife jambed in the door upon closing.

Really this could be any number of small simple things.
For example, the contacts on the door latch/lock mechanism simply needs to be wiped clean and made free of debris (if any)...

Hopefully, a solution will be found quickly
