Can't find driver for Chicony USB 2.0 camera which was pre-installed on my Toshiba laptop

Suggest you go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down through the installed programs to see what the camera app is actually called, then search for that name in the "Search" box that pops up after you click on the Start menu (before you click All Programs).

Or try just typing Chicony in the search box.

click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your web cam from there

if you are have trouble with your web cam

click start control panel administrative tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down

image devices you could see a yellow question mark ? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver

sounds like driver related problem, download this tool: Driver Update Software for XP Vista 7 8 update your drivers, and won't be any problem.

i think there is two cause 1/ your camera 's driver is not stall properly re install it. 2 there is not install usb 2.0 driver. which support usb hardware as usb camer /usb modeam etc . 3/ your camera now out of work ---thanks

you need to check and make sure it's on the HCL list .....this stands for hardware compatibility list ....or the laptop should have a sticker saying it's vista ready . let me know

3. Right-click on Chicony USB 2.0 Camera and select Update Driver Software. A yellow exclamation point indicates that the camera is recognized by Windows but is not working properly, probably because of problem with the device driver
4. Select Browse my computer for the driver software.
5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select USB Video Device from the list, and click Next.
7. If the message “Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device” appears, click Close.
8. Restart Windows.
The webcam should now work properly

Reinstall the driver, or uninstall the driver and do a fresh install with the correct drivers, check if the usb2.0 drivers are installed.
