Why won't my whirlpool double oven model# GBD 307 cut off, plus getting a F2 E0 error code

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

I'm in the middle of cooking dinner and I got a f3 e2 error and the oven locked...how do I get my dinner out? My husband is an elevator mechanic so he's handy...we turned off the breaker to quit...

That code refers to the oven temperature sensor sensing a too hot oven. I suspect what you did to quite the cleaning cycle should help once the temperature cools down the door should open. I am a little confused, did you set the oven to clean while your cooking, or did it do this on its own, or was it preset and yopu forgot it was set to clean? Your temp sensor may be going bad if it just detected a too hot oven while your cooking. If it started cleaning then it may have gotten too hot and this is the safety device to prevent it from overheating. it sounds like it is trying to self clean, its essential that you find the error code sheet, stuck in the stove or oven cabinet somewhere, also check your range settings so that it is not set to auto clean.

While baking oven starts broiling with no input from controller. f2 is displayed on screen

Hello there:
F2
Note: Also see fan thermal switches Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem. · Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.
· Look for electrical noise interference in the oven temperature sensor circuit (Ham radio, cordless phone, etc.).

Oven won't heat past 290 after that we get an error message

Your oven is in celcius mode to change press bake and broil at the same time SF will appear then press broil and cooking time at the same time a C will appear press again to toggle to farenheight then press start to lock it in that mode. Some models when you press the bake and broil the sf will appear if it does press the press the broil button to toggle between C & F then press start.

Self-cleaning oven F2 error message

Well I found three all same series... If it's occasional I'd leave it 'till was always on? Anyway .....
F2 - E0 Shorted keypad Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)

OR....
F2 Oven temperature sensor shorted Replace oven temperature sensor
OR

F2 Temperature runaway detected (Bake/Broil: 600 - 700 F; Clean: 930 - 1000 degrees F). Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode. Check relay board for stuck contacts. Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F). Check sensor wiring connectors for a loose or high resistance connection. Check electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) functions Replace relay board if necessary. Replace oven temperature sensor if other components check normal. If failure repeats, replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC)

Will only broil, then gives an F2 error

F2 Oven temperature is too high 1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).
2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.
