Have you looked at the user manual to make sure that each radio is on the same channel and sub-audible tone? Once this is done then the radios will work properly.

Follow instructions on page 13 of your manual "using monitor button" place receiving radio in monitor and key up other radio. It is better if you have someone help. have another person take the radio to another room away from you to complete test. sometimes if the radios are two close too each other they will cancel each other out.

The PTT button is probably stuck and your radio is already transmitting.

When i push the ptt button on my audiovox radio it shutsthe radio off

Commonly this can be a sign of a low or bad battery. It takes more power to transmit than to receive, so when you press the PTT button on a radio with a poorly charged or bad battery it will often fail. The same radio will run in standby mode (receive only) for long periods of time.

So before looking for a more complex problem, you might try swapping your battery with another radio's known good battery to see if it solves the problem.

Best regards.

Tk 2200 ptt button not working. when the button is pushed, the light come on momentarily then goes off

Hi Benjamin,

Kenwood TK-2200. The light comes on when you press PTT button, indicates you are transmitting.

The light goes out when you release the PTT button, if itgoes out during transmission, but your message gets through to your contact, then I don't see the problem.

If the light goes out during a transmission and you are still able to communicate, Don't worry, be happy, it's just a minor glitch with the light, no the radio.

As you haven't given me the details that I have guessed for you, I hope I have been helpful.

Cheers,
Peter

The ACTUAL problem is your rechargeable batteries have most likely depleted over time, and since it takes more batterie power to transmit than to receive it can appear that your batteries are fully charged and you can be receiving but due to the batterie it will be unable to transmit

In order to reset the radio, power on while pressing both volume buttons (+ and -) together with the PTT (speak) button, until you year a high-pitched tone.

But I have found that the "stuck on receive" problem is related to the battery voltage: non-rechargable AAA or incorrectly charged batteries can give 0.2-1.0V above the nominal voltage. Try to leave the radio on for a few hours or replace some of the four AAA batteries with slightly exhausted ones and see if that helps.

Radio stuck in RX mode.

Your PTT button is possibly at fault. It may be partially depressed, leaving your receiver open. Behind your PTT button there is an internal PTT button on the componet board. It may be stuck or defective.
