FAIRLY SIMPLE...

1) REMOVE THE PLATTER

2) WRAP THE BELT AROUND THE INNER CIRCLE FOUND ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE PLATTER, THE BELT SHOULD FIT PERFECTLY....

3) PLACE THE PLATTER BACK INTO PLACE...

4) THROUGH ONE OF THE SPACES ON THE PLATTER, TAKE THE BELT AND PLACE IT OVER THE MOTOR WHEEL...THAT SHOULD DO IT.

My record player (Spirit of St. Louis CD/Cassette/Turntable) still works, but the turntable seems off. The speakers are fine so it's probably a problem with the needle, or the timing belt.

It's defiantly the belt. You can do it yourself. What you need to do is make a note of how it fits NOW - before you remove it (take photo's if you can. This will make it easy to replace it. You will find access to the belt most likely under the turntable matt. Just lift or peel it up. If it is glued you can re-glue it when you have finished, with some Bostick type glue.

When you have removed it take the diameter of the belt in MM and the thickness and search for it on Google. You don't have to be 100% spot on with the diameter measurement.

If you have any problems fitting the belt there are plenty of demonstration video's for belt replacement on YouTube.

How do I attach the turntable belt to the Aiwa px e850

Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle. Place the section of the belt on your finger over the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.

Remove the turntable platter. Put the belt on the bottom of the platter. Put the platter back on, and then rotate the platter until the opening aligns with the brass motor shaft. Pinch the belt off the platter, so you can wrap it around the brass motor shaft.

Turn on and go!

Belt off

Lift the platter. PLace the belt under the platter on the inside ring. PLace it back on the turntable, and you can stretch it back onto the motor with your finger or black stick through one of the holes on the platter, while the platter is positioned where it is accessible. if you need a replacement, try...

Turntable rotating slowly or not at all

First and foremost, are you sure you installed the correct replacement belt, and installed it correctly? Just ruling out the obvious. Now, if you installed the belt correctly, then the only other thing that could cause this is a bad motor. Not an expensive part, but with labor, it might be cheaper to just buy a new one. Figure the part itself is about You will more than likely be able to remove the cartridge/stylus and use it on your new turntable, just make sure the tonearm is the same style as your existing turntable - P-MOUNT Tonearm. If you buy another belt drive, you might even be able to keep the belt you purchased as a back up - might fit! Here is some part info on your turntable: - Belt - Part #SJY90080-3 - $5.99 - Motor - MOTOR, 4 VDC, .2 WATTS - Part #SDMB5E - $19.99 Labor - 30min This is just to give you an idea of what it would cost to replace the motor. I put the belt part # on there, just so you could verify that you bought the correct part. Hope this helps some. - Justin
