Question about GE Profile JB968 Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

F7 display For no discernable reason, this afternoon when we got home from work, the display read F7 and was beeping continuously. We pushed the clear/off button and it stopped, but in about 4-5 minutes the display read F7 again. After repeating this process, we turned the oven on, as if to preheat, and then turned it off. This seemed to solve the problem but we are wondering what might be the issue? Any help would be much appreciated!!

My frigidaire oven model es400 while cooking in oven, it started beeping and a code of f7 flashed on all control panel Windows. Not oven is higher temp than listed

Hey Scott, thank you for your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire range is displaying an error code of "F7" and it is beeping. Typically, "F7" stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the "F7" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt

Displays "F7" and a continuous

If your Maytag range displays the "F7" error code, it means that the programmed fault error 7 occurred with the range. Luckily the error is easily fixed in most cases and requires no new parts.

Identification:
Once the error appears on the range it is usually followed by seven loud beeps to represent the number. Clear the error by holding a button down for a minute. The LCD will flash and the code will disappear.

Effects:
The most common cause of the "F7" error is a stuck button on the LCD panel. Look around the range control panel and examine to see if any buttons appear pushed in, stuck or out of place.

Prevention/Solution:
Take a damp rag and light wipe around the buttons to clear out any grease, food particles or sticky substance that may have built up around the button. Attempt to use your range and see if the error appears again.

Considerations:
If the error continues to appear, there could be permanent damage to your electronic range control. Contact your Maytag dealer for warranty information and replacement parts.

Keep us updated.

After cleaning, display flashes F7 and it

HI. This code is referring to a failed function key(s). These key are located on the control board. Replace the touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock(main control board), replace the clock (ERC).

GE SPECTRA GAS RANGE XL 44 BEEPS AND DISPLAY F7

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Constant beeping and F7 is displayed

Hi tahitian,

The error code F7 means that the Function key is shorted or stuck. To fix this error, replace touch pad or if touch pad is part of the clock, replace the clock (ERC).

Hope it helps.

The lcd scrren on my range displays F7 in red and flashes d6 in g

The code is because of bad keypad/the control panel.Have it changed. It probably non-functional and constant beeping sound is followed as you mentioned.Theres a link to explain more about this for reference. The only solution is to replace the control panel.

F7 alarm

I believe "F7" is a function key error with the Electronic Range Control (ERC). The ERC is not serviceable, so it will have to be replaced. If you can provide me with the model number off the range (usually located on a label inside the lower drawer), I can provide you with a part number. I hope this helps.
