Remove back cover on evaporator inside frezeer if is full of ice all over then you have a defrost problem and you might have a faulty defrost timer or defrost thermostat repl both so you wont go wrong if the coils are clean and not frost is on coils then check compressor to see if its running just by touching you can find out if it si not running then you have a faulty relay or overload repl and compressor should start.if there is only partial frost then you have a leak or restriction depending when you bought it most refrigerators have a maufactures warranty on compressor for about 5 years call for service on the number on the sticker inside refirgerator

LG 262SQA Model fridge cannot cool

That does not look like an LG model number, but regardless, it sounds like the defrost system is not working, allowing frost to build up and block air flow over the cooling coils in the freezer (where all the cooling for the entire refrigerator takes place). Take back panel off inside freezer, melt frost / ice with a hair blower. Test for continuity through defrost heater and replace if "open". If it was OK, problem could be deftost control, or as simple as a door not fully closed at some time, allowing excessive frost build up.

I have a Kelvinator Opal Fridge/Freezer. The freezer is working fine but the food compartment wont cool. It used to run too cool and freeze stuff on the top shelf. The fridge seals are fine, the fan runs...

The vent from the freezer to the fridge can be blocked with frost and is preventing the flow of cool air to the fridge.
This can happen if there is frost build up due to failure of the auto defrost timer.
So please check on the fan section , remove panel and see if there is frost or block, if so check the timer Heater and the thermostat.

My son left fridge door open, from 1-2 hours. it doesn't seem to be cooling now. Is there a problem or does it take a while for condensor to come back on?

What has happened is that the evaporator (the cooling coils inside the freezer) have frosted up due to all the moist air which entered the refrig with the door open. This frost has blocked the normal flow of air within the refrigerator/ freezer. Turn unit off, unload freezer, and leave freezer door open for several hours to allow built up frost to melt. Better yet, remove the panel at the back of the freezer and melt the frost off with a hair blower.

I have a Kenmore fridge model 106.72852100 the fridge part does not work but the freezer works what should I do?

Check to see if your inside fan is blowing air. Your fresh food section is cooled by the freezer. If the fan is running, I think you will find that you have a defrost problem. You can tell by looking at the inside back panel of your freezer. If it has frost or ice built up, you have a defrost problem. Your freezer should be between -10 and 0 degrees and if you have the ice on the inside back panel of the freezer. you will find the your freezer is really running warm and not ok like was thought. If so, remove the back panel and defrost with blow dryer. you can check your heaters once defrosted. they will be behind that panel. You can put the panel back on and the fridge will work ok for 3 or 4 days. This will give you time to get the part or time for someone to come out and fix without loosing any food.

Yes, Airflow is what cools the frig. Check for frost buildup on the coils indicating a problem in the defrost components r a fan not running fast enough. Eric

Side by side fridge not cooling, not making ice

if it seems like the evaporator is getting cold then your sealed system should appear to be ok. you need the evap fan to transfer cold air into fresh food section. if not turning u need to replace fan motor. make sure your not getting to much frost build up on the evap.
