Use Itunes to "Restore" factory Settings. that will remove any lock codes entered into the ipod. it will also erase any music, and or files stored on it.

I forgot my 4 digit passcode to my ipod it is not a touch

Hi Jamyia,

Unfortunately, the only way to access your iPod if you've forgotten your 4-Digit Passcode is to restore it through the computer you synced it with. Simply plug in the iPod, open iTunes, and click "Restore" on the iPod screen that opens up when you connect it to your computer. The computer will ask you if you do indeed want to restore it, so select "Ok" or "Yes" when prompted. This will restore your iPod to factory settings, meaning that you'll have to redownload your music or other files to it after it is restored. However, you'll then be able to set a new passcode and have full functionality restored!

Good luck!

My son got ahold of my iphone last night and changed the passcode on it and now he doesnt remember what it was. and i tried turning it off but it wont even turn off i need help please! thank you! :)

Your iPod most likely has now been disabled.
Step 1: Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with the iPod.
Step 2: Open up iTunes and scroll down on the left side of the screen
Step 3: Choose your iPod, your right screen should now change to show some general information about your iPod.
Step 4: Scroll down on the right side of the screen until you see a button labeled "Restore". Click it, and it will unlock your iPod and reset it. This will wipe everything off of your iPod, but will sync it back with whatever you have in your iTunes library.

I just got my daughter a an ipod touch for her b-day. She in turn gave me her old ipod 4 gb (I don´t know if its a nano or not)I would like it´s manual

Hopefully this is a 4th gen nano... If not you can go to click on support ... there is a search bar there. Put in the keywords that you want ... for example ipod nano 3rd generation manual and search .. it should pull up the older manual for you ... the one I posted is for the 4th generation nano.. hope this helps

Itouch is completely black, it seems to be dead.....

Hi there,

there are lots of steps you can take.

The good news is that your ipod is under warrenty for 1 year from the date of purches.

Please make sure your ipod is charged. Leave it connected to the computer for at least 24 hours.

Make sure you connect the ipod via a USB port dirrectly on your computer, not through a hub, or a keyboard or any other device.

The ipod should show up in itunes and i would suggest updating the firmware by selecting check for update, and maybe even restoring the ipod.

If the computer wont find it, try connecting the ipod and entering DFU mode.

Here is a step by step guide on how to do that. Although the guide says it is for the iphone, it is basically the same for the ipod touch.

Please dont attempt to open up the ipod yourself, as it will instantly void the warrenty.

if you wish to return the ipod for service, you can find a local apple reseller by calling apple on 1-800-MY-APPLE

Or you can visit an apple retail store by visiting

Hope this helps.
