Hi I have a kenwood ts 440s the radio turns on ok but the frequency counter display does not come on

Wow, what a nice radio! Very complicated controls, here is a link to the operating manual. I suspect the radio is showing a memory channel number instead of the frequency. It should be easy to fix, but long manual. If you cannot find it in the manual, erase or "clear" all memory entries.

How do I stop the frequency counter board in a DX-959 from loosing contact and making the display stop working?

You may have what we call a bad solder joint or a problem with the connection point from the counter to the radio. You need the expertise of a CB radio repairman.

Galaxy 88hl frequency display only has decimal point, channel readout fine

on the face plate is a button for the counter ,try pushing it several times to see if the dot moves. As long as the channel display is reading the correct channel you should be ok but you want to correct this problem . If you can't correct it contact Galaxy and they will have a tech talk to you.

Freq. display not correct but radio is on the write freq.

This of no surprise because it is just that a display not a counter.

There must be an alignment pot for the meter display although there will be some doubt if you just align it with out using a frequency counter.

http://cbtricks.com/radios/rflimited/index.htm

you might find more alignment info under the S45 omegaforce as they have similar boards.

hope this helps...goodluck!!!!

Change drum soon warning will not go away. Changed drum and toner

You may need to reset some sort of timer or counter. This kind of information can be found in the owners manual (aka users guide).

1 Wait until the time, date, and answering mode appear on
the display. Then press the Select Function key.
2 Press the 7/Counter Display One-Touch key. The display
shows DRUM COUNT.
3 Press the Yes § key to clear the image drum unit counter.
4 Press the Select Function key to finish.
