Question about Panasonic Home Theater System System

PANASONIC SURROUND SOUND SB-WA3300

Gift of 2nd hand PANASONIC SURROUND SOUND SB-WA3300 set with DVD player, but no manual.
This model is not mentioned in existing blogs or faq's on this site.
Can't get sound out of anything but the Sub woofer (all 4 x small speakers are silent) Checked all wires, gone through all the set ups we can find on screen via the hand control - but no joy. I guess I need a manual but again most manual sites don't list this model (I guess it's an older one?)
Can you help please?

    Thank you ..

    Our system is now working!

I admit that in the end we just waited until someone techie enough came to visit and they set it up for us! .. but I have no idea how they did it, and so the need for purchasing a manual at some point may be required - with your advice I know know what to look for and where. I had a quick look at the links and you are right, the number I had was just the one component, and now I can find the whole system!

Thank you for your time and advice

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

Panasonic SC-HT900 Home Theater System with 5-Disc DVD Changer
Very attractive system with many features. Progressive scan DVD player looks great on my projector, thanks to the high end video circuitry in the 5 Disc DVD changer. Sound is very clear and accurately reproduced though the six speakers. Movie dialogue comes through very naturally. Does a fine job at decoding Dolby Surround. Movie "bass" effects are clear and pronounced through the active subwoofer. I've tested this system in store next to an expensive Bose and the quality is more or less comparable. It is a known fact Panasonic DVD players are among the best in the business. Many more expensive DVD players(costing considerably more than this system) made by other brands use Panasonic internals for their players.
All DVD players must contain an MPEG decoder. In addition, progressive scan DVDs must contain a special device called a deinterlacer. Interlaced video frames are sent to a television in two pieces, by first drawing all of the odd lines, then the even ones. The deinterlacer essentially doubles each frame of video(producing a very defined picture) by filling in missing information. That is the true meaning of "progressive scan." This is the basis for HDTV, and be aware that your (Projector,TV,LCD) must be able to display HDTV or progressive to take advantage of this great feature. As with any other product, deinterlacers vary in quality and must be able to handle various film encodings. Panasonic uses top notch internal hardware to perform the deinterlacing(DCDi) and decoding. The results are spectacular!
Don't expect the bass to blow your ears out - no system at or near this pricepoint will. The subwoofer is powered but yet conservative (but more than other systems in its class). Don't buy this unit to play at maximum volume. System can be cranked up to loud but not extreme voulme. Sound will be more than enough for rooms This unit also makes a great system for listening to FM Radio, CD/R etc. Unit supports many types of Discs. Music seems rich and pleasing, in some cases exceeding much more expensive units.
The speaker stands will save you the cost of buying wall mounts. This system has a plethora of features that are stated in the manual. For example, there are multiple surround modes, seating placement adjustments and digital input capability. Unfortunately the owners manual is written like an engineering course lab manual - so it may take the non- technical some time to learn all of the arcane features. Also, you should purchase at least a 16 gauge spool of speaker wire - do not use the doorbell wire that is supplied with the unit.
Overall I will give this unit 5 stars, because it is priced very well with respect to its competition (Sony Dream system 990) and it exceeds that and other products in its class in terms of quality and features. On the other hand, if you desire a very loud, extreme bass systems - don't consider a home theatre in a box. Purchase a component receiver/amp with large poweful speakers. And of course, a Panasonic progressive DVD player for the best video!

Can I connect a Sony DVD Player DVP-SR90 to the Panasonic Home Theatre SC-HT75 to achieve surround sound without direct SCART connection - and how?

You can connect your Sony DVD player to your Panasonic HT using an analog RCA audio cable (white and red) for stereo sound. Connect to the AUX inputs on the HT and select AUX. Since the Sony DVD player only has SCART, you would need an adapter, scart to RCA. Like this one:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/scart-to-3-phono-plugs-with-in-out-switch-28102

Check for compatibility. Use the red and black RCA plugs for the audio into the HT.

Your Panasonic HT does not have a digital audio input which would be required for multi-channel surround sound (Dolby Digital 5.1)

I have an old Zenith Digital Surround System the Receivver is a Model Z763B with a DVD Player/Recorder connected. When I play a DVD or VHS the sound can be heard through the TV and the Sound System,...

I have the same A/V receiver and in my setup there is an audio output (red and white able) coming from DVD player directly into Zenith Z763B. The video from DVD Player goes to TV input (yellow cable).
There might be alternatives to the setup mentioned above but I like to watch movie in a surround sound, rather than output from TV.

Sony Model DAV ? SB 500W Home Theatre System

Please check at rear of TV for Digital Optical IN port as home theater should have optical out port at rear. If you got any optical in port in TV, just connect optical wire between TV and home theater.

2nd option is check Line Out pins at rear of home theater system, if found, hook red-white RCA cable there and put it to same input in TV where you hooked Video (composite or component) cable.

Let me know the results to help you more.

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.
