My a/c unit increased the temperature to 88F and will not allow me to change this temperature. It changed to this temperature on its own while it was in use. I have tried turning it on and off. Unplugging the unit. Now it does not even want to turn back on. What is the problem?

I had this happen to me too. The control panel was getting wet from high humidity and the buttons were shorting making the settings change. Clean/dry the buttons and try again. May have to turn unit off and use hair dryer to dry the control panel well.

Good day,,,one thing i could say is that the thermostat / temperature control is not in good condition, althought it can produce one cool setting only, that's why it is always on 88 degs. permanently...you can ask your dealer for the covered life and maintenance warranrtty in order to solve that problem.

What is a thermistor

A thermistor is a component whose
resistance changes when its temperature changes.
A thermistor is a special type of resistor whose
resistance decreases as its temperature increases.

A plot of resistance against temperature for
a thermistor is shown above. The plot is unusual
because it shows that a bigger current will flow
at a higher temperature. For most components, the
resistance increases as the temperature increases
and a smaller current flows at a higher temperature.

What is a Thermistor used for?
A thermistor can be used in a circuit to detect a
temperature change. For example, a thermistor may
be used to keep a freezer at the right temperature.
A circuit with a thermistor in it can switch the freezer on if the temperature gets too high and switch the freezer
off again when the correct low temperature is reached.
A thermistor can also be used to trigger a fire alarm. Thermistor are used in all Temperature controlled device and Motors to cut off
circuit when temperature rises over a certain limit to cut off power or trigger another circuit.

Rinnai tankless water heater

the tempreature can be changed by changing dip stick numbers inside unit, If your unit is pre set @ 50 & installed before 2002 than you may have to change the mother board. If its preset 50 & after this date you can raise 3 - 4 degrees. If your unit is pre set 60 than you can go up & down. Manual is located inside cover, First check which unit you have, Before you do change anything take a picture first, so you can reverse what you have done if need to. ALWAYS TURN POWER TO UNIT OFF BEFORE REMOVING COVER.

Hello what temp should i have my fridge/freezer at the freezer unit is working but the top is warm, thanks, Sheryl

Sheryl -

Most manufacturer's suggest 0 deg F for the freezer, and 34 deg F for fresh food compartment. You determine the fresh food temperature by filling a 6 to 8 oz glass with cold water and placing a thermometer (capable of reading 32 deg F) in the water. Place the glass & thermometer on a shelf in the fridge. Allow it to assume the temperature on the fridge and hour or so. The glass of water is to minimize rapid increase in temperatures seen when the door opens.

Make your adjustments from there. Allow temperatures to stabilize for up to 24 hours if the fridge is full, much less if empty before making additional changes.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

The refrigerator and freezer are working perfectly. The problem is that it completes the defrost cycle @ 10:00 pm. Just when we want our ice cream cold the temperature in the freezer is up around 20 deg...

Generally, the defrost is based on compressor run time and not ime of day that it defrosts. The defrost cycle time is between 10 and 30 minutes and does not allow the temperature to increase enough to defrost or start to thaw food. This suggests that another problem may be occouring. The goal temperature in the freezer should be 0 degress F. It may not be reaching this temperature due to a dirty condenser coils (clean with a bottle brush and vacuum, or a air leak through the door seals.

What type of environment is this copier in? Standard office, warehouse, etc. If the temperature in the area fluctuates a lot, that could have something to do with your problem. Usually ghosting problems like that originate in the fuser. Try increasing or decreasing the fuser temperature to see if that fixes the issue.

Which side ofintake manifold does temperature gauge sending unit go on

Water Temperature Indicator Sender Unit
The water temperature indicator sender unit is installed on the engine into an engine coolant passage. The water temperature indicator sender unit reacts to the engine coolant temperature. Its resistance decreases as the engine coolant temperature increases.

Water Temperature Indicator Sender Unit Removal
swb~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange). If mixing occurs, drain engine cooling system and refill with originally equipped coolant type. If this contamination occurs the service change interval on Extended Life Coolant will be reduced from 6 years/150,000 miles to 3 years/30,000 miles.
  1. Partially drain engine cooling system as described.
  1. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring (12A581) from water temperature indicator sender unit (10884) .
  1. Remove water temperature indicator sender unit.

Heater/AC control no longer allows change in temperature

You have one of two possible problems.

1) The temperature shaft retention nut is loose behind the knob

2.) The wires to the potentiometer part of the temperature may be broken.

Either one is common to this vehicle. The replacement of the AC controller is about 900 dollars. If the wires are broken, they can easily be reattached to the circuit board via soldering. What you would have to do is remove the control box from the dash, and disassemble it. Once the unit is apart, there are 3 wires from the temp knob to the circuit board that need to be re-soldered. The unit CAN be repaired, as opposed to the expense of replacing it.
