Hearthrite Radiant heater HR30EN-1 The heater has been setting for about 2 years. It works in the manual setting with the battery, but does nothing when plugged in and turned to electronic.

Peggy, I hope that you thoroughly cleaned the heater inside and out, before firing it up after it has set for 2 years. If you didn't, more than likely, that's the problem. Not using it regularly does it more harm than using it constantly. That's because, while it was sitting for 2 years gathering dust, spiders went in it and may have built nests. These nests clog things up.

If after you've cleaned it and it still doesn't work in electronic mode, contact Empire Comfort Systems, Technical Service Dept 800-851-3153, for further advice. They are good folks to work with.

Hope this helps you to start troubleshooting the problem.

When you push the lock button it just beeps, it does not lock

You didn't indicate whether this is a new installation or not, so I don't know if it was working properly and has quit working or not set up correctly.

I'd recommend that you follow the installation instructions, installing fresh batteries at this time.

Here is a link to the installation instructions, which is a PDF file and requires that Adobe Reader be installed to view the file:

http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/BDHHI/40486-02

If this is a new installation, you may not have the door jumper properly set for the "handedness' of the door; see page 6 of the installation instructions for an explanation.
There are additional troubleshooting tips on page 9.

Here is a link to the Kwikset customer assistance page, giving you further contact information:

Good luck!

My KitchenAid dishwasher quit workin no light no nothin, float switch is good, having problem troubleshooting water fill valve with solenoid???

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check for the following if your dishwasher is not working--

1. Fuse (blown or tripped).
2. 120 VAC supply wiring connection faulty. Repair or replace wire fasteners at dishwasher junction box.
3. Electronic control board faulty.
4. Motor (inoperative, check resistances).
5. Door switch (open contacts).
6. Door latch not making contact with door switch.
7. Touch pad circuit defective.
8. No indicator lamps illuminate when START or OPTIONS is depressed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

I have a problem with a roland hp 147e digital piano. The problem is that a bock of about 6 white keys and 5 black keys in the same area have stopped working. Is it a simple fix or a costly one?

If it is in an area that you play a lot it might be the membrane contact strip that needs to be replaced. They come in sections and can be replaced with some careful work with the right parts if they are still available. If the membranes themselves are ripped they usually have to be replaced. If the contacts in the membranes are dirty they need to be carefully cleaned. In your case as it is a section of notes there may be a connector that has worked loose (not usual but possible). Further than that requires the schematic and tools and troubleshooting electronics experience. If you are not comfortable with tackling this yourself contact several musical equipment dealers that sell Roland products for their opinions and prices per hour for repairs. Also check piano tuners and repair places for advice. Hope this helps.

When turned on, the screen has waves in it across the top and flickers. It is unreadable. When the TV warms up it seems to be better but is starting to flicker or flash all the time now.

Hi,
Your Toshiba TV has hyperboard inside and there are few electrolytic capacitors (may be 10) that need to be replaced.
If you are comfortable with soldering parts in PCB then go ahead or ask help to any friend that knows electronics stuff repair.

This is a convergence problem that can be either poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and feel comfortable working inside the set where there are potentially dangerous high voltages, update this and further details and instructions will be provided.
