either some debris is caught in the diaphragm or it's deformed enough to render it inoperable. Unthread the nut just above the handle and pull it apart, then push the white tube downward until it comes out of the bottom of the unit. Inspect the diaphragm to see it there is any debris in it or if it is deformed. Usually the diaphragm has a uniform opening, if the gap is wide, it will not function. The most common problem is that the diaphragm needs replaced. Hope this helps.

With these pool cleaners, that is often a problem with the flapper. Check the flapper to be sure that no debris is stuck. Debris can halt water flow and movement, making your cleaner get stuck.
The best way to install the foot pad is to the install the flat part of the cassette to feed the foot pad into the grove (as you turn it). It always always works best when warm, so if the foot pad has been out side and it is cold, then it will need to warm up.
When the foot pad finishes, the flat part will be towards the back and the rounded part towards the front of the cleaner.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING THE FOOT PAD
Unthread and remove the cassette. Holding the Baracuda G3, press
down on the yellow clip while pulling the foot flange toward you. Pull off the
old footpad and stretch on the new one. Insert the locking clip of the foot
flange into the large opening, push forward to lock into place insert the
cassette and tighten.

I have used a piece of coated wire to tether the the parts together, and tightened it down with a wire nut. It has helped a lot, but I still have to re-tighten periodically. It does not completely fall apart anymore, though. I imagine that these parts wear out and will need to be replaced. First, I am replacing the very worn foot pad to see if that stops any excess vibrations that could be causing the yellow connector to unscrew itself.
