I just got a Dak turbo bread machine. Recipe I am using is pretty simple. I also found one that is specifically for the turbo machine and it says I should have warmed up the liquids? I did not do this from...

Regardless of what the original recipe or instruction manual says, the machine must be placed in a 70 to 80 degree low-humidity environment (60% or less), all ingredients must be brought to room temperature, adding water, milk, milk powders, oils, salts, cheeses, sugars and seasonings first, next the flour, and last the yeast, before pressing Start.

Exception to this rule: Fast-rise recipes used to create a finished loaf of white bread in under 1-1/2 hours. Water/milk for these types of recipes must be a warmer 110 degrees F and the standard active dry yeast must be replaced with fast-acting dry yeast.

Hope this helps!

I have a K6774 breadmaker. Usually I press stop after 15 min. of kneading, so that I can start it over. This time, however, the three lights all came on. I unplugged the machine and then plugged it again...

Yes, it possibly was because it was a hot day. Please read on...

I need a basic bread recipe . i dont have powdered milk

Only use powedered milk if you are using the delay on the timer.

You can use and liquid to make great bread.

Basic 2 pound sweet bread:

1 cup liquid (milk, almond milk, fruit juice, etc)
mix 1.5 teaspoons of salt with liquid and add to bottom of machine
Add 2 tablespoons of sweetner (honey, sugar, etc)
Add 2 tablespoons of fat (oil, butter etc)
Add spices to your liking (about 1.5 teaspoons or more) (cinn, nutmeg, cloves etc)
Add 3 cups of flour (white or wheat)
Make an indent for the rapis rise yeast in the flour
Add 1.5 teaspoon of yeast
Don't let the salt of the liquid touch the yeast
You can 3/4 cups of fruit when the add fruit alert beeps

This basic recipie works for savory bread too.
I do a sundried tomato bread using this basic plan but lots more herbs, freh garlic, chicken broth.
Play around and enjoy

Need recipes for DAK Turbo Baker II Bread Machine. There are other bread machine recipes but the DAK makes a larger loaf than most machines so I need one scaled for the Turbo Baker II. A recipe book came...

Mom's Basic White Bread for DAK Turbo II
1 package yeast
3 cups flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 T nonfat dry milk powder
1 T butter (room temperature)
1 1/4 cups warm water (Not straight hot. It'll kill the yeast.)

Pour the yeast to one side of the inner pan. Add the rest of the ingredients in the order above. Select white bread and push "Start."

Need recipe for 1 lb whole wheat loaf

I have a very healthy recipe. Makes two loaves so you will have to divide in two.

13 oz. water (warm)
3 3/4 cup stone ground whole wheat flour
1/2 cup steel cut oats
2 T oil
2 T dry milk
2 T vital wheat gluten
3 T honey
1 1/2 t salt
1 T active dry yeast

When machine beeps add if desired:

1/2 cup golden flax seeds
1/4 cup unroasted sunflour seeds or sesame seeds (or both)

Put into machine and go. I usually set it on dough cycle and put into pans for second rise 50min in a warm, draft free area. Preheat oven to 400 place bread in oven after second rise, reduce heat to 375 and bake 30-35 min.

You can find both flour and gluten with Bob's Redmill products

enjoy,
Evelyn

Recipe book blatantly wrong

I've found that the recipe books that come with most appliances, aren't very accurate. They don't accomodate different altitudes or even different countries. I hate trying to convert European recipes to American. European recipes list their dry ingredients by weight, not by volume. I had to find a recipe converting website to change a lot of those that sounded good.
