Printer icon says door open. I have open and closed cartridge door and turned power on and off and nothing works. any suggestions?

    i didn't replace an ink cartridge. i was printing envelopes, one jammed, was completely removed with no tears or pieces of envelope left in printer and "door open" has been on ever since.

This may seem silly but before doing anything else I would completely power down the printer; unplug the power supply and the USB cable.

Let the printer rest for a couple of minutes and then reconnect.

Turn the power on to see if this has allowed the printer systems to reset.

If this does not rectify the problem please reply with the details of any error messages.

Hi

If you replace new ink cartridge, remove and reinsert again the inrk cartridge. Then try to reboot again the printer.

Turn off your printer
Open the cover
1 move the cartridge carrrier manually to the center manually with your hands from left torgiht ( 5x )
2 .Remove the cartridges used a clean paper make sure its dry wipe the area where the ink goes out make sure its clean .CLean also the area where you return your cartridges make sure its clean OK .

3 >return it properly close the carrier properly make sure there's a snap sound produced .Move again the cartridge carrier manually from left to right 5x
close thecover
try to turn it back on

in case nothing happens
remove all the parts cartridge ,black box paper power supply
lift the printer up turn it up side down make sure the cover is open when you lift it up and turned it upsidedown
so any foreign material will come out
Shake it for 5x
\return all the parts
try to power it on

  1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product. NOTE: The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon (c01424575.gif ). Remove the cartridges from the product.
  2. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  4. Wait 60 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button .
  6. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
  7. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
  8. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

Brand new L7680. Just set it up with the software and the screen is showing a failure signal 'Alignment failed. Refer to device documentation for details. All that says is run the process again. I have, 5...

This not an issue w/ the software. please follow these steps...
Solution #1 Clean all the inks
  1. open the cartridge access door.
  2. take out all the inks that you have on the printer. (put them on the table upside down)
  3. get a wet clean cloth.
  4. on each cartridge you need wipe it out the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge it self.
  5. put the inks back in to the printer.
  6. close the cartridge access door
  7. turn off the printer
  8. unplug/disconnect the power cable
  9. wait for 1min.
  10. plug the power cable back in back in to the printer.
  11. turn on the printer.
  12. access the setup menu (press the wrench icon on the printer or setup button)
  13. Go to tools, then look for clean printhead
  14. align the printer.
Solution #2 Clean the printhead manually make sure that the printer is on.
  1. Open up the cartridge access door
  2. Take out all the inks that you have on the printer. (put them on the table upside down)
  3. Once you have take out the inks.
  4. Take out the printhead (printhead is the one that holding the inks)
  5. look for the printhead latch. (pull it up)
  6. Take out the printhead.
  7. Clean the electrical contacts of the printhead using a wet clean cloth again.
  8. Put the printhead and the inks back in to the printer.
  9. Close the cartridge access door.
  10. turn off the printer
  11. unplug/disconnect the power cable at the back of the printer.
  12. wait for 1min.
  13. plug the power cable back in to the printer
  14. turn on the printer.
  15. repeat cleaning and aligning the printer by going to tools under setup menu (wrench icon).

Solution #3 Reset the Printer
  1. While the printer is on unplug the power cable at the back of the printer
  2. On the printer press the # and number 3.
  3. keep on pressing for 1min.
  4. After 1min. plug the power cable back in to the printer.
  5. If the printer is not turning on press the on/off button.
  6. You should get a message "part NVM reset" , then follow the following task. (cleaning and aligning printer).

Error Oxc18a0001 System will not let me print says original cartridge bl., lt.bl. (just replaced), red, yl., need replaced but when checked still have lots of ink in them. & keep getting flashing...

Follow this steps..
Reminder before troubleshooting ...
Make sure that the printer is on. Make sure that you are using HP genuine ink cartridge. Be careful of cleaning the inks and touch w/ your fingers, its very sensitive!
Solution #1 Clean all the inks
  1. open the cartridge access door.
  2. take out all the inks that you have on the printer. (put them on the table upside down)
  3. get a wet clean cloth.
  4. on each cartridge you need wipe it out the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge it self.
  5. put the inks back in to the printer.
  6. close the cartridge access door
  7. turn off the printer
  8. unplug/disconnect the power cable
  9. wait for 1min.
  10. plug the power cable back in back in to the printer.
  11. turn on the printer.
  12. access the setup menu (press the wrench icon on the printer or setup button)
  13. Go to tools, then look for clean printhead
  14. align the printer.

It keeps on sayin my access door is open but my printer doesnt have a rear door

Access door is usually the one that opens to allow the insertion of new cartridges. Try opening and closing that one and restarting the device after completely unplugging from the mains and waiting 30 secs.

I just replaced all the ink cartridges and the message says ink system has failed turn the power off then on again,. i have tried several times and get nothing

Hi Please follow the the steps given below Make sure that the printer's power cord is connected to the walljack (Avoid if there is any surge protector or extension cord) Take out all the ink cartridges Take a clean cloth, dampen it in distilled water and with that cloth clean copper contacts of the cartridges firmly Let them dry for 2 minutes Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer while printer is turned on (After closing all the doors that are open and also keep the cartridges out) After 2 minutes, plug in the power cable Put the ink cartridges in one by one, then close all the doors again Printer would start going through some maintence and then would start aligning the ink cartridges All the best!! I just put in a yellow cartridge. Previously the printer was working just fine. Now it is showing an error code: 10.92.00 So I put the old yellow cartridge back in. The same error code now appears? He

This is your problem.
10.92.YY CARTRIDGES
NOT ENGAGED
alternates with
Open and close
front door.
The cartridges are not engaged,
poor primary transfer bias contacts,
defective high-voltage supply, or
control signal errors.
YY Description:
00 - Black print cartridge
01 - Cyan print cartridge
02 - Magenta print cartridge
03 - Yellow print cartridge
1. Open and close the front door to fully
engage the cartridges.
2. Reseat the print cartridges.
3. Check the printer primary transfer bias
contacts to the transfer unit. Clean if
dirty. If the contracts cannot be
cleaned or they are damaged, replace
the transfer unit.
4. Replace the high-voltage power supply
PCB.
5. Replace the DC controller PCB.

The print carriage is stuck.

Solution

  1. Open the top access door on the printer.
  2. Remove the print cartridges.
  3. Close the print cartridge flaps after removing the print cartridges.
  4. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  5. Replace the print cartridges.
  6. Close the top access door.
If the resume light continues to blink after the print cartridges are released,

OR

the print carriage is stuck or makes a grinding noise, follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover to the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Move the print carriage towards the middle of the printer (this procedure may take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Take out the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover
Solution

  1. Open the top cover.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait a minute or so.
  3. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet

No print catridge

The solution above worked on my printer, without power cycling.
1. Remove all paper from the input tray.
2. Open and close the door.
3. Reinsert the paper into the input tray.

Flashing lights

That flashing pattern is consistent with a stuck carriage. Here is a copy/paste from HP concerning the 5000 series and your flashing lights.

Issue

The print cartridge carriage is stuck.

Solution

1. Open the top access door on the printer.

2. Remove the ink cartridges.

3. Close the cartridge flaps after removing the ink cartridges.

4. Turn the printer off, then on again.

5. Replace the ink cartridges.

6. Close the top access door. Issue

The Resume light continues to blink after the cartridges are released.

OR

The carriage is stuck or makes a grinding noise.

Solution
