I have a Mitsubishi WS-65807 Projection Tv and while I was watching a program the picture went to a black screen. The audio works fine and when I go to the Menu it shows up fine. Any input as to the problem would be appreciated.

Thats usually a vertical issue since the menu still works. I would check the solder on the vertical IC and also the Vertical yoke plug pins. Often solder can develop a small crack around the pins and resoldering will usually fix the issue in most cases. The other item could be a leaky CRT has dripped some coolant on some of the components in the vertical circuit so I always check the board for any sign of a clear sticky residule on the boards which indicate dripping CRT coolant.

Add hdmi port to mitsubishi ws-65807

I doubt it as it was never designed for that kind of input, Component works best on this set and it should have only one HD input for a box marked in the menu as DTV.

Will not power on

The power supply has detected a problem, most likely a blown fuse caused by a bad convergence IC. If this is the problem the parts cost is around $50, but printed circuit board work is required to fix it.

WS-65807 picture goes black when using HiDef Signal

Tank, If the unit operates correctly on DVD then we can assume that the signal chain and display is operational. Can you substitute the Directv receiver to rule the box out as part of the problem? I know they came out and checked but how exhausting was the testing? Have you checked signal strength on the directv on screen setup? Low or marginal signal strength could cause intermittent blanking. When the screen goes dark does the audio continue? please let us know..
