Hi

Just try to go to the DEVICE MANAGER. Right click to my computer icon, choose DEVICE, choose DEVICE MANAGER, click on the MONITORS and under that right click again and choose update driver.

Another way is to download the latest driver based on your manufacturer make and model and install it to your computer.

Another is to RUN THE WINDOWS UPDATE to get the latest driver updates in your computer.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Regards and thank you for using Fixya !

Not able to set the required resolution (1920 x 1080) for my new LG E2240S monitor. Computer is Advent T9002 on Windows XP

Advent T9002 is using a Sis Ultra256 video card that can't offer you such a big resolution. Your monitor is ok.
You can try to install a more performant graphics card.

No sound on my Samsung SyncMaster 930MP All drivers are updated

Lets find out first if it is the monitor amplifiers problem or PC sound card problem.
Try feeding the monitor with sound source such as MP3 player to see if you can get the sound or not, the sound system in the monitor is nothing more than Powered PC speakers mounted inside the monitor, no driver required to make the sound to work.
If it is the amp problem inside, you will be better off spending money on a good set of Powered speakers system that will have 100 times better sound quality than the monitor built-in speakers.

Hi when i power up my hanns g hh251 it turns on just fine. if i then connect either vga or dvi cable the screen goes black. i checked it was ok with the cable box running dvi-hdmi cable and it had a...

Hmmmm... did you install software for your monitor? Did the Hanns-G come with any software to install?
------------------------------

Maybe you need to install the correct driver of your video card. But first update your motherboard driver, if you have CD/DVD utilities enlclosed in your computer from the vendor then you should reinstall that in series installation. after that installation restart the system and then install the updated driver or the current CD/DVD utilities of your geforce 8600 GT and again restart the system after installation. and then set the monitor display to the required display of your games.

My laptop has lines on the screen when turned on

It is required to check whether it is a Hardware issue or issue related with any Software. For this, loginto BIOS by continuously tapping the F2 key on the startup, if you can view vertical lines in the BIOS, it will be a Hardware issue related to the LCD monitor, and it is required to service the Computer in any service center. If the vertical lines disappear in the BIOS mode, the issue is with any of the Softwares or drivers installed in the Computer.

Resolution steps:
1. Check whether the installed video driver is compatible with the Computer. you can download Original shipped Video driver from the link below.

Original NVIDIA Display Drivers. Updated NVIDIA Display Driver

2. You can also try updating the BIOS version by downloading and installing the BIOS updater.

Please try the steps in the same order as it is provided. All the best.

Some games need 1440x900 resolution to play but when i go to the display settings to change it, its not there just 1360x768, 1600x1200 and lower ones. I need help????

Hi there. If you're able to get 1600x1200 on the monitor, that should suffice--anything equaling or larger than the game's required res is ok...the picture will have a little bit of border on the edges because of the higher resolution but shouldn't be a hinderance at all. Remember this...the higher the resolution, the harder the graphics card has to work to maintain proper movement of the images in the game. Use the exact res if possible. However a close, higher res is fine, too.---Rick

Can't drive monitor

Try moving the monitor down to a lower res. I would try 640 x 480 first and then go up from there. Also, some adustments may be required in displays for the second monitor....
